Broken Illusions

Broken Illusions

“It’s agency. The system isn’t waiting to be told what to do. It’s watching us decide what we’ll be.” Torin leaned against the frame of the open balcony. Snow drifted across the lights below, pale and indifferent. “And how do we answer something that already knows our questions?” “We don’t,” Lena finally said. “We show it we’re still learning to ask better ones.” That day, a new report came in. Not an anomaly, not a threat. A pattern. Refugees crossing borders had begun organizing not with instructions or politics, but with stories. Torin showed Lena the data. “They’re drawing maps from memory. Connecting cities they’ve never been to. Rooting each place with feeling. Look—here’s a node marke

To Rule the Tsar Alpha's Heart

To Rule the Tsar Alpha's Heart

I was supposed to forget him. But you can’t erase something that was written in the soul. We reached the northern camp before dawn. It wasn’t much just a cluster of tents near a ruined chapel, smoke rising from fires barely alive. The scent hit me first: wolf, human, and fear. The Cross assassins readied their rifles. I raised my hand to stop them. “Wait here,” I said. They hesitated. “Now.” I moved alone through the snow, silent, until I reached the first tent. Inside, a child slept beside a woman who looked like barely alive ribs showing, eyes sunken, hands trembling even in sleep. They weren’t soldiers. They were survivors. Refugees from Valentina’s madness.

Demon's Evolution

Demon's Evolution

They had come not as beggars, but as hopeful contributors to our community, possessing property and aspirations of advancement. As I observed this distinct cohort of refugees, a sense of responsibility weighed heavily upon me. These were not mere transients passing through; they were potential members of our society, each with their dreams and aspirations. "O Noble Lord," a refugee stepped forward, their voice trembling with urgency as they caught sight of me atop the wall. "We are fleeing from Duskfall City, seeking refuge within your walls. Please, in your mercy, grant us shelter!" Their plea echoed through the gathered crowd, each voice joining in chorus as they beseeched me for sanctuary

The Transcendent Zombie System

The Transcendent Zombie System

The Rank 5 Surpasser stared hard at the refugees before him. "Who's the outsider?!" The hundreds of refugees all took a few steps out of fear when they heard it. Lucas sauntered into the scene and looked at the Rank 5 Surpasser faintly, and slowly said, "I'm that outsider." The Rank 5 Surpasser heard it and glanced at Lucas with a critical gaze. Then, he smiled coldly. "Do you know what's your outcome?"

I genuinely love this book, only problems I have with it is the fact that he never actually travels with the people he gets to join him (hattie Mia etc) I wish there were more interaction between them all. second is that there are only 2 or so chapters a day....I have plenty of coins to waste...

I believe no updates is due to the platform not the authors themselves. Many of the books I’m reading are not updated as well. It is possible the authors are not able to upload their chapters on the platform

Ravens of Eternity

Ravens of Eternity

“I’m still basically a beginner, but I’m close to graduating from the Naval Academy and getting my Medical Technician’s License, so there’s that. If that’s what you mean.” He looked at the girl and tried to study her as she spoke. She was certainly like the other two - a refugee with an oddly refined quality about her. Not in the sense of social refinement. More like a genetic one. And like with the others, he was well aware of their capabilities. All the refugees were stronger, tougher, smarter than regular people, to varying degrees. But what he noticed was that Amal was far more empathetic than most. Well, that he had met, anyway.

By the title itself, it was already something that would hook anyone immediately. And after reading a few chapters, indeed it was great. I really love reborn books/novels and I am not disappointed one bit at all! Love the Mc by the way.

It's great to read a book that the first scene is in outer space. Eva is calm, strong and you describe the background well enough to make me imagine it figuratively. Nothing to complain here. It's just perfect :)

Shattered Veil: A Muslim Romantic Thriller

Shattered Veil: A Muslim Romantic Thriller

“Fine. But you keep walking.” 23 NOURA We passed others on the road. Refugees, like us. Or maybe not like us. Some looked at me with hollow eyes, their faces gaunt and sunken. Others had an air of desperation, their movements erratic, their eyes darting to Khalid with something between fear and hostility. A man approached us, his hands outstretched. “Please,” he begged, his voice raspy. “Food. Water. Anything.” I froze, my heart pounding.

Finding Myself

Finding Myself

Just because I'm physically challenged doesn't mean I'm not able to do the same things that people who can walk do. Drake must have seen the face I pulled at Archer because he jumps in with, "Just because Jace is physically disabled doesn't mean he can't do the same things as those of us who have full use of our legs." Oh no, Drake is pissed, this isn't good.

Lala's Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret

Lala's Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret

Not as an individual, suffering from illness such as Lala, or in poverty and illiteracy like Billy, even as a criminal in a community, but at the very edge of existence brought about by famine and war, and the displaced statelessness of the exile, the refugee. In that part of the mind where imagination festers in a cave, seeking escape in gambling and sex, or other visceral forms of entertainment, understanding may try to grow but rarely thrives. “Little man, what now?” cry the discriminated, the impoverished. The little man with his bag of belongings, the earth wanderer with his pushcart family. Or Dogon dreamer under an alien sky. What now? For my life has no meaning, and everything I have

The Alpha’s Shattered Mate: Her Secret Triplets

The Alpha’s Shattered Mate: Her Secret Triplets

The barricades broke. The refugees surged forward like a tidal wave, overwhelming the soldiers in seconds. They didn't attack the military. They simply ignored them, throwing themselves toward the riverbanks. They drank from cupped hands, soaked rags in the current to press against their wounds, and bathed their sick children in the shallows. The camp did not erupt into violence. It erupted into a desperate, weeping choir of salvation.

Curse of the Moon's Bride

Curse of the Moon's Bride

"Give them time." The words weren't dramatic. That was what made them land. Rhea spoke next from beside Mara. "Lena came here terrified," she said softly. "Now she's helping in the healing quarters. People change when they're given the chance to." At the far end of the room, Elara – the refugee leader – stood slowly. She bowed her head respectfully. "We don't want to be a problem. Tell us what to do, and we'll do it." No pride. No defensiveness. Just exhaustion.
