He would never beg for his life. I sighed. “Matt, please just go away. I don’t have time to deal with all this now. I don’t want to have lunch with you, and there’s nothing to talk about or make right between us. He dropped to his knees beside the bed on the marble floor, clutching his own hair so tightly as though he could somehow force the pain out of his head. There was a few silence for few seconds as he was absorbing my each and every word. "I wish I could tell them how much I love them and how much thankful I am for them one last time. I just missed my chance and still regretting it," Aiden said in a low voice. A tear escaped from my eye on the sound of Aiden's broken voice. He recollected moments in time when he had wished he could just come out with the truth, days when his mask felt heavier and days when he had to keep his feelings at bay. Despite that, he couldn’t say he regretted doing all that he had done. If he was ever given a chance to go back in time to change something, he was sure he would change nothing but why did it still hurt so much? A lump welled up in his throat and he forced it down then slowly lifted his gaze to Alaric again, shoulders heavy with defeat. “Her parents didn’t die in an accident.” The words landed heavily between them, like a boulder dropped over a mountainous ridge.
