My uncle, the Alpha King, stood at the center of the hall, his presence heavy, his expression already dark with anger, and the way he looked at me wasn’t with concern, it was with rage.
“Explain yourself,” he demanded, his voice sharp enough to slice through whatever strength I had left. I wasn’t even expecting anything different from him.
“Not again.” I muttered under my breath.
I let out a slow breath, forcing myself to meet his gaze. “What exactly do you want me to explain?”
His eyes flashed. “Don’t play games with me. I am hearing that your mate rejected you, because you disgraced this pack, and you stand here asking me what I want explained?”
