Cole, flipping pancakes at the stove, grinned wide.
“There is our girl.”
Grant, setting the table, paused—eyes softening.
Marcus, pouring orange juice, gave a small nod that felt like approval.
She hovered in the doorway, suddenly shy.
Cole set the spatula down and crossed to her.
Opened his arms.
“Come here, baby.”
She stepped into the hug—warm, strong, smelling like maple syrup and clean soap.
He lifted her easily, setting her on the kitchen island.
“Sleep okay?”
She nodded.
“Best ever.”
