Forgotten Embers

Forgotten Embers

Prologue II: Pyre, 3113 Pyre Av 5, 3113 Stephan Caliphus, King Everything was on fire the night he finished the book in the back room of a borrowed house. He laid his glasses down on the desk in front of him and rubbed his tired eyes. The crackling of flames could be heard as the city burned all around them. The blood curdling screams of the men in the streets where they died was enough to make the blood of the fiercest warrior run cold, but he was a man of empathy and it hurt him more than it did the others.

Love Story in Heaven

Love Story in Heaven

When she saw the eyes of the Fire God León de Fuego flashed an unusual light, she regretfully lowered her head. But she still heard the laughter of the Fire God León de Fuego. “Wait until the quiet night, I will satisfy you.” Why does she have such a bad memory, knowing that the one who suffers in the end is always herself, and still likes to confront him? Her memory returned only for a moment, for when she saw a young, strong person enter the door, she gently went to the side of the Fire God León de Fuego, with him "studying" a little bit about longevity. “God of Fire León de Fuego, what is the lifespan of this person?”

Magma Reformed

Magma Reformed

"My first memories are of such love. I remember the feeling of talking to my mom and dad. How they smiled when I learned something new. I remember when my mom did my hair. I remember being on my dad's lap when he read me a book. "All of it changed so fast, Igneous. When the other half of me appeared it ripped my world apart. People could tell I was different and unintentionally I rubbed it in their faces. When I was in that house fire, they were scared that they had lost me. A part of me wishes that they did so I didn't have to see the horror on their faces." I grimace when I remember how they looked. "I wasn't scared when I found out the flames didn't burn me. I had always been so fascinate

Bloodbound: The legacy of Serelai

Bloodbound: The legacy of Serelai

A profound, bottomless sorrow. "The land remembers the pain it caused," Elara whispered, her hand pressed to her chest. "It's sick with it." They set up camp on a small, rocky hill that gave them a view of the valley. As Ronan tried to light a fire, the wood, though dry, refused to catch. It just smoked, giving off a smell like old anger. "The memories here are too strong," the Remnant observed. "They resist the present, they do not want new stories, like the warmth of a fire, they only want to replay the old, dark ones."

The Omega Queen

The Omega Queen

For a long time, I stayed there, bent against the weight of memory, listening to the silence that followed death. And then… slowly… I straightened. I pressed my palm to the floor, the burned boards hot against my skin, and I whispered through the smoke, “I couldn’t save you. But I remember you. I remember the way you laughed. I remember how safe your voices made me feel at night. I remember you loved me. That is what I carry. That is how I honor you.” The fire subsided, the smoke drifted away and the silence shifted back into mountain air.

Taming the Fire Dragon

Taming the Fire Dragon

I say frowning. “No. The Great Clash was elf against elf.” I stare at the sentence in front of me. I’ve become so used to living with hybrids that it totally escaped me. “Then, what is this reference to fire?” “What?” Yhen says, setting aside his own studies and scooting closer to me on the couch. “Right here. It’s the only reference I remember seeing and I didn’t think about it when I read it before because you have my fire. It just dawned on me that there is no reference to dragons, so how does an elf have fire?”

Kenna and Yhendorns story was a long time coming, and it was everything I could’ve hoped it’d be! Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book - although every story by Cooper is truly a great read. So excited for what’s to come! As always, author - amazing job! :)

Fire's Determination

Fire's Determination

he hissed, bending his head closer. "Wrong move," I growled, shooting my hand up to grasp his wrist, channeling intense heat into his bones. "Now!" I yelled at my dad as I dropped the walls, forcing the last of my fire's reserves into the man's bloodstream. I let my own power surge into him at the same time, stealing what remained of his life while the fire literally cooked him from the inside.

Fighting Flames With A FireFighter

Fighting Flames With A FireFighter

He says. I nod in understanding. I, however, know I wouldn’t give up my job, I’m protecting other children from losing their parents, I’m saving children from losing their lives. I can’t be selfish, I do this because I want to be the man who put out that fire that day. I want to protect people from fires like this one. We are done gearing up and we make our way in. Dante and I are in a team together. Walking in we see just how chaotic that’s the first sign things were going to shit.
