Nova whispered, her amusement clear in her voice. “We’re just bystanders, love,” I murmured back. “We watch.” “Movie’s starting!” Eli announced like a director calling action. “Focus, you two. This is gonna be awesome.” Apparently, his definition of awesome was corpses walking around without heads and people screaming every five minutes. Not that I was complaining—Nova clung to me so tightly I thought my shirt might rip. Arnold wasn’t much better, with Eli gripping his arm. “We should watch this again when we’re alone,” I whispered when Nova jumped at another jump scare.

Nick shook his head at me in dismay as if he could not believe it when he was the one blocking me out every single time–upon my request, I admit. This time, I would, My voice was determined and flat. Remember it all. Do you hear me? I will remember every tiny detail like the lines on the back of my hand. Silence. That was appropriate. I waited for it to happen. For the nightmares to start unfolding. Any minute those horrific pictures from my past would ruin it all for me. I would be left to repent, sweat clad, huffing and puffing like an obese dog. I waited and waited and waited. Nothing happened.

Bella’s POV I could not move. I could not breathe. I could barely even understand what I was looking at, because the words beneath my photograph kept repeating themselves inside my head until they stopped feeling like words and started feeling like a nightmare that I had somehow been living inside without knowing it. SUBJECT TWO REMEMBERS EVERYTHING. Everything. What was I supposed to remember? The experiments? The laboratory? Noah? My mother? The children? Or something much worse that my mind had deliberately buried because remembering it would have destroyed me?

Because no one knew. The Dreamer knew. But the Dreamer had forgotten. Until now. Then suddenly— The Dreamer's voice echoed across the sky. Not a whisper. Not a plea. A declaration. Ancient. Powerful. Heartbroken. "I remember." Reality shook. The stars trembled. Entire constellations shifted. The Dreamer was remembering everything. Its freedom. Its prison. Its betrayal. Its loss. The End recoiled. "Stop." The command echoed sharply. "You must not remember him."

Alive? As I sit up in bed, memories flood my mind like a tidal wave. I remembered the night I died, the feeling of the blade piercing my skin, the sound of Diane's voice whispering in my ear. I remembered the pain, the fear, the sense of betrayal. But I also remembered the moments leading up to that night, the laughter, the tears, the fights. I remembered the way Robert smiled at Diane, the way Diane looked at me with a mixture of envy and hatred. I remembered the way I felt, like I was walking on eggshells, never knowing when the other shoe would drop.

"Not like a dream. Like a memory. I saw them die. I saw my father fall and my mother scream and there was a little boy, my brother, and –" "Easy. Slow down." Damon stroked my hair gently. "Tell me what you saw." I explained the nightmare, every horrible detail. The burning pack house, the wolves with the symbol, my parents fighting and dying, the brother I didn't remember having. "It was a memory," Damon said quietly. "Your mind is unlocking what was hidden. The more you remember, the clearer it will become." "I don't want to remember. It hurts too much." "I know. But maybe you need to remember to understand what's happening now."

Letting it remind me if I forgot. The night I last saw him still rang in my memory. How I'd watched the car strike him. How I'd stood there, frozen, useless. I hate remembering it, but I couldn't let it go sometimes. It was my worst nightmare. The one that played on repeat whenever I closed my eyes too long. I remembered one of those words he kept saying. Like he'd known his time was up. Like he'd known they'd come for him. "You don't have to be like them, Damon."

I was 15 when everything changed. I was completely unprepared for my entire life to be upended. No one was. I still remember the expression my Dad had when he realized that what was happening. My nightmares won't let me forget. That face haunts my nights and then I wake to the real nightmare, my new life. Let me back track though, we'll start at the beginning.

My Nightmare Natty's POV It was morning already and last night was a long night. I never knew he was that insatiable.I lot count as to how many times we did it. Thinking about it, I smiled. I looked over to him and smiled more. He was still sleeping like a baby. I tried standing up but I felt pain in my thighs. I tried again but I just groaned. My groaning woke him up,he was baffled and asked. "Baby are you alright..."he asked in a husky voice.
