Her chest heaved as her rage twisted into despair. “You’ll come back,” she whispered to her reflection, her voice trembling with madness. “You’ll regret walking away from me… and from us.” She pressed her flat palm against the mirror, her face changing from grief to icy resolve. "No one embarrasses Eva Ross and gets away with it. Not Jenny White. Not JM Reese." Her lips twisted into a ghostly smile, tears still sparkling in her eyes. As the city lights flashed outside the glass barriers, Eva alone stood her heart aflame, her mind racing, her love transforming into revenge.

But her connection with the flesh trading syndicate just overtook all of her. A surge of uncontrollable animosity develops in her toward Veronica. “Why did you do that?
