He stood there stiffly, surrounded by broken champagne flutes, and Thorne stood to the side, a smirk on his lips. "What's going on?" I asked again, fear creeping into my heart. Rhysand didn't reply. His eyes looked away. Thorne's gaze met mine, his lips tugged into a mischievous smile. "Ah, Ms. Hayes, good to see you… we were just talking about you." I didn't wait for him to finish as I rushed toward Rhysand. "Rhys, what's going on?" He didn't respond immediately. "What happened?" I asked breathlessly, reaching out to touch him.

So now I'm trying to do whatever he wants and play his game, instead of having to watch the Big Man company go bankrupt and screw up. I have many friends there: Gabriel, Annie, Shasha, Dexter, Jane, and Cindy. I'm not going to make them suffer just because I'm too stubborn and don't want to lose to Rhysand del Millero. Feyre’s POV His eyes never left mine as he drank and I, in turn, watched him, transfixed by the strangely erotic sight. She moaned, clutching his mouth to her neck, and encouraged him to feed even more as she squirmed about his lap. I swallowed and tried to look away, but I was held ransom by those glowing red eyes that refused to leave the purple of mine even as he drank. A few minutes later, he withdrew and she fell to his body, limp and weak while he cradled her as gently as he had when drinking.

He was dead serious. He was actually, seriously proposing that I—Myra Rossi, the girl who still had fucking stuffed animals (no offense to Mr. Dragon) on her bed—was going to marry Zyran Theon. Rhys got blind drunk when he heard the news. On a stormy night, he stole the five-generation Griffin family ring, stumbled into my bedroom, and called my name with a trembling voice. "Please wear it," he'd choked out, his voice trembling. "Maeve, remember, once you put this on, you belong only to me."
