Riley groaned and dragged her hand along her face. It was already a day after the incident already and Frema was currently in Riley's house after she had dropped her kids off in school. "I just can't believe she also sent you pictures and videos. What the hell is this bitch trying to prove? She's doing too much at this point." Riley spat, whilst pacing about her living room. Bodyguards?” “Family thing,” I said vaguely. “They’ll be gone soon.” She nodded like that made perfect sense. “Cool. I’m from Seattle. Pre-med. You?” “California native. Business… maybe? Or just dropping out to become a barista.”

There were about ten people there already - mostly people from our floor, plus a few friends from classes. Riley was standing by the snack table talking to Ethan, and he looked up when we walked in. He’d grown his hair out a little since last year, and he’d filled out from all the track training he was doing. We talked for a while about their college and programs I was interested while eating, when Riley started, “Oh, I have talked to Liam, he is going to get us free beers after the meal…” “That’s nice…” Marco said and high fived her. “Who – who is Liam?” I asked while eating the last bite. “The waiter who served us. He is my best buddy” Riley replied. “Oh that’s nice…” I said. “You are eighteen right?” Riley asked me. “Um, not yet…” I said shyly. “Really? So you are not going to drink?” She asked me with her jaw dropped down. “Um, I guess, no. I’d like a coke, though” I said nervously.

Riley had fully grown, she looked more beautiful than the fourteen-year-old I had met a few years ago. She was now a fully grown adult. How the years flew so fast. We both collapsed into each other's arms, I swirled her around, her matured scent hitting my nostrils. We disengaged from the hug, but I still held onto her arms. I looked up at Emelia who leaned on the wall. “What?” she gwaked, “I was never angry.” She rolled her eyes, sending a wink to Ruby.

Riley got up from the chair and walked out of his cabin. He got into his car and leaned on his seat with closed eyes. Tears rolled down from his eyes and his lips trembled. “Why? Why me?” “I just got to live with the girl I love and you thought to take me back. Why is my fate so cruel to me? I want to live. I want to live a long life with my wife. I want to get old with her. I want to see my kids grow, get married and have their own children. I didn't even get the chance to have my own child.” Riley broke down and cried for hours in his car.
