A large counter with about thirty workers stood ready to serve us. As we neared the counter, Hazel looped her arm through mine, slowing me down while the triplets walked ahead. “Riley texted last night,” she whispered. I feel a little buzz of excitement shoot up my spine. Riley starts walking, and Logan comes down the stairs. He freezes seeing her. She gives him a little wave before he runs in the opposite direction. “I’m not too sure what you said to him, but I now feel like the villain everyone runs away from.” I patted her back. “It’s not like that, I swear. Elaine’s POV As the lecture droned on, I kept my eyes on my phone, trying to maintain the facade of indifference. Suddenly, the girl beside me leaned in and whispered, "Hey, I'm Riley." I glanced at her, surprised and shocked by her timing. I didn’t expect her to talk even though she is sitting next to me. I mean everyone hates me already. She should also hate me because they do.
