Riley Thorn And The Dead Guy Next Door Novels & Stories

Just like that. Beckett looks away. Back to them. Back to his world. The ache in my chest returns immediately. Sean notices. Of course he notices. He sighs. “You two are weird.” I nearly choke. “What?” Before he can answer, Colt’s voice carries across the hallway. Loud. Too loud. “Yo, Beck. Your neighbor coming to the game Friday?” My stomach immediately tightens. Beckett doesn’t answer. Tyler smirks. “What? Hoodie girl?”

I snatched it up without checking the screen, already braced for whatever fresh hell this day had left for me. “Boss, it’s the campus guy,” the voice said. “Something’s happening. I… I think Riley’s in trouble.” “What do you mean?” My towel was still around my waist, hair wet, and already my heart started racing furiously against my ribs. "What the fuck do you mean that Riley is in danger?!" “There’s a guy in black… I saw him. He… he took Riley. He got her into his car. I… I don’t know what he wants, but he’s fast.”

It's almost endearing how hard she tries to maintain that perfect exterior. "That's the best you got, Holloway?" I call over my shoulder, heading toward the living room. She's storming after me, probably about to launch into some lecture about personal boundaries and basic decency, when the guys' arguing cuts her off. "You two," Marcus says, turning to look at us. "What do you think?" Quinn glares at me before looking at Marcus. "About what?" "The news," Riley explains, gesturing at the TV. "Some criminal was found dead right in front of the police station. Multiple stab wounds. People are saying it might be a vigilante, like that case from last year where—"

He took his phone out of his pocket and placed a call to the security at the gates, guarding the place. “Hello, sir.” The man who had answered his call and who Tyler knew as Tennyson spoke up after Tyler introduced himself. “My neighbor just found black roses by her doorstep without ordering them. Do you want to explain how that could be?” Tyler snapped. “Firstly, it's not in your place to lay a complaint. Secondly, how the fuck am I supposed to know anything about that spoiled brat?” He retorted.

I just laid on the ground for a few minutes as I watched Riley snap my fathers neck. No matter how bad my back is killing me and I feel somewhat numb I stood to my feet. Ethan was running towards us. I just started running and held out my hand as my nails sank into his abdomen. He screams and his skin looks like it’s smoking as he falls to his knees groaning in pain. That only last a few minutes before Riley grabs his neck and raises him up. “You’ll pay just like your father did. He learned not fuck with what was mine,” Said Riley and his claws tore Ethan’s throat out.

Riley dropped the newspaper he brought with him on the center table and replied, “Not okay. I am sure you haven’t seen today’s news. That’s why you are acting so calm.” “What is there in the news?” Xander asked casually as if he didn’t bother about anything. There was a faint smile on his face. Riley observed him for a while, squinting his eyes. Then he slowly revealed, “The thugs are dead inside the jail. The news said that they committed suicide. One of them has been sent to the mental asylum.” Xander raised his eyebrows and looked at Riley. A trace of amazement spread in his eyes. His lips curled up gradually with a sly smile.

All Katherine could think of was the way her blood had tasted in her mouth. “You should be dead,” Riley said, in a voice that was devoid of emotion, as she pulled the blade from her hip. Katherine chuckled softly and tilted her head sideways. “Didn’t work out that way, did it?” She licked her lips slowly. “Maybe you’re just losing your touch.” “You should’ve stayed dead.” “Ah, but then who would keep you entertained?” Without warning, Riley’s hand snapped out, grabbing Katherine’s face roughly, forcing her head back. “I could end you right now,” she whispered, voice like a blade. “No one would stop me.”

“Leonel-“ she begins in a tone I can’t determine, but before she can say anything else, Riley’s door kicks open from the inside, and I inwardly groan as that spawn of satan walks out herself. Holding a shot gun.

Chapter 144: The Race Against Time XENOIS I stood at the edge of the path, staring down at a scene that seemed to defile everything that I thought I knew about reality. My son - Riley, who I'd been told was dead or dying somewhere in these woods - was lying on the rocks below, alive and breathing. Beside him knelt Thorne and a woman I didn't recognize, her hands still glowing with residual magical energy that made the hair on my arms stand on end.

Somebody planned this for days. He pushes me and twists my arm and hairs continuosly. But when for one second he leaves my hair to open the gate I take a deep breath and throw my head back suddenly and it hits it's target, his nose. His hold loses at my arm and I free out of his hold, turn around and kick him between his leg. Yes sometimes you have to fight dirty. But what I didn't notice is that he also has taken his knife with his free hand and just a second before my leg makes contact with him he slashes me from right side of my throat to shoulder blade tearing it open.
