‘You’ll die a cruel death. I clenched my hands into fists, looking around for help, but no one was in the sight. ‘Don’t…’ I gasped. ‘Don’t come any closer to me!’ I begged. He smiled and kept strolling toward me. ‘I gave you my heart, and you ripped it off my chest?’ He said with clenched teeth, glaring at me. ‘Ah!!!’ I screamed out in horror when he shoved his hand into his chest and ripped out his organ.

I'd become someone else. Dipped in a pool of latent anger, I went over to the posters and started ripping them off, one after the other. Nothing but the sound of ripping paper filled the room, flowing through my ears like music. With every torn corner, I imagined tearing the old me away—the innocent, wide-eyed me that was so scared of being cast aside, that I accepted every bullshit that people dealt me over the years.

I had that cocksucker who tried to take me out clipped within the week, but I wasn’t scared. But now, the love of my life had been taken. I couldn’t imagine living without her. I was not playing at anything anymore. I drove my hand into his chest with a single powerful thrust, breaking through bone and tissue until my fingers closed around his still-beating heart. His eyes widened in shock and pain, his mouth opening in a silent scream. I held his gaze as I ripped his heart from his chest, the organ pulsing once, twice in my bloodied hand before going still. His body toppled backward, eyes still open but seeing nothing.

“Show me your heart, Rosemary Blackhollow. Show me what you’re willing to sacrifice.” The ground beneath me cracked and splintered, a deep, bone-chilling sound echoing through the wasteland. I staggered, trying to keep my balance, but a searing pain erupted in my chest. It felt as though claws were tearing through my heart, pulling me apart from the inside. A scream tore from my throat, raw and primal, as I clutched at the invisible force wreaking havoc within me.

Before my hand could reach his cheek, he gripped it in his firm hold. "Don't do that. Don't be so kind to me. Don't give me this false hope when there's nothing inside your heart for me. Don't do this. Don't show me this kind of care and concern that I have craved for years when you are just going to snatch it with your own hand at the end because it hurts. It hurts so fucking bad. My heart isn't made of stone that won't break. Stop playing with it. Stop making it confusing because, in the end, it's going to break through your hands." I needed more. I stalked toward the bastard as he tried to crawl away, dazed, half-broken. I grabbed him again, hoisted him like a ragdoll, and with one furious thrust, I plunged my hand into his chest. I felt ribs snap around my knuckles as I tore through flesh, muscle, bone. Then my fingers closed around it, his heart, still beating. I ripped it out. He collapsed in a heap at my feet, blood gushing from the gaping hole in his chest, his eyes glassy and lifeless. Finally silent. Finally done.

He spit at my feet. Using my claws, I cut his shit off. “Hold still. This might hurt.” I smiled as my claws went into his chest. His screams echoed, making any remaining birds fly away. Eventually, I had to pull my claws out and cut a bigger hole so my fist could fit into his chest. It was a unique feeling to have a man’s beating heart in my hands, but the look of terror on his face was perfect. Ripping it out, his eyes looked down for a moment before his body gave out.

My eyes flash and I rip his heart out brutally. His body slumps down on top of me and I push him off, wrinkling my nose at the smell of blood that permeates the air. He really made me feel like dirt when he tried to force me earlier. I should have castrated him. Ripping his heart out was letting him off easy.
