I'll go lower

I didn't speak when André’s heavy footsteps announced his arrival. Not when his intoxicating scent reached me before his voice did. Not even when he said my name, low and rough, like it hurt him to say it. Like it was both a curse and a prayer, dragged from somewhere too deep to control.

I stood perfectly still.

Not out of fear. Not even out of strength. Just... will. Pure, stubborn will that tightened every muscle in my body until I felt like I might crack under the strain. I didn’t blink. Didn’t move. Didn’t breathe too loud.

André’s voice lashed through the air accusing, demanding, the kind of voice that always used to pull a response from me. A fight. A scream. A kiss. Something.

But this time, I gave him nothing.

I let him speak, let him unravel. Let him fill the space with confusion and righteous anger and whatever else he thought he had a right to. I stood there and let him watch the life drain from my face like it had been leaking for months, slow and invisible, until now.

  • Claimed By The Alpha: Cursed Desires   I care about her

ANDRÉ’S POV I found her outside, I've been looking for since I managed to calm Camila and there she was standing and talking with Alpha Benjamin. The moment I stepped into the open air, my eyes found her like they were made to. Her silhouette was bathed in the warm glow of the afternoon sun, outlined like something sacred. Her back was straight, composed, but not tense like it often was around me. Her silky hair, pulled into a loose tie, danced gently with the breeze, catching the light in strands of gold and copper. She looked… peaceful. She stood beside him Alpha Benjamin, or Benny since that's what he prefers. That damned polished, good-hearted alpha who everyone seemed to trust. Including her. They were close. Too close. And she was smiling. Not the tight, guarded smiles she gave me when she was pretending everything was fine, or the sharp, bitter ones when she was angry. No this was something else. It was soft, playful. Real.I froze. For a moment, I just watched.I hadn’t seen

GENEVIEVE’S POVTwo weeks later. It had been two agonizing weeks since Camila arrived, and she was still here infecting every moment with her syrupy smiles and venom-laced words. She had turned my life into a tightrope walk of rage and restraint. And today? Today was just another episode in her twisted drama. Now she was sitting in the middle of the common room, cradling her cheek, thick tears running down her face like she’d just been assaulted. Her sobs echoed off the high stone walls, dramatic and gut-wrenching. And everyone was buying it.“She slapped me!” she wailed. “For no reason!”Liar.I stood rooted in place as André turned to me, his expression laced with a cocktail of disappointment and confusion. His voice calm but sharp cut through me.“What’s gotten into you, Genevieve? You were never like this. Or is this who you’ve been all along… and I’m just now seeing the real you?”His words stung more than I cared to admit. I had faced worse. I had survived worse. But still, hear

GENEVIEVE’S POVCamila smiled as if she hadn’t just whispered venom in my ear.I watched her carefully now, my eyes trailing her every move. She sat beside Kiera again, crossing one leg over the other like she belonged, like she had always belonged in this place, beside him. And the moment André’s name was brought up again in conversation, she lit up as if just the mention of him was a spark she’d been waiting to catch.Kiera laughed at something Camila said, and Camila tilted her head back, all elegance and easy grace. They spoke about old memories times before I arrived here, moments I had no place in. Every now and then, Camila would throw in a detail only someone close to André would know. The way he took his coffee, the expression he wore when he was thinking too hard. She wove herself into the conversation like thread through fabric.I sat there silently, trying not to flinch. But I saw it, I could see through the facade she was putting on after all she had shown me her true col

GENEVIEVE’S POVWhen he left the room for the second time, it hurt more than the first. I didn’t think it would. I thought I was used to this used to him. I’d reminded myself over and over again that I was just a contract, a warm body on borrowed time, nothing more. He said it before, made it clear with those cold, sharp words. But hearing it today felt different. It lodged deep, like a splinter beneath the skin I couldn’t pull out. Before, I hadn’t felt anything. Not really. I’d survived on numbness. But now, I feel everything and it hurts. It hurts like a string had been tied to my heart and yanked until something tore inside. I pressed a hand to my chest, as if I could hold the pieces together.I used to be proud of how unbreakable I was. I told myself no man would ever have that kind of power over me. No man would get close enough to crack the surface, much less reach what was beneath it.But now? Now I’m not so sure.Because André... he was doing it. Quietly, cruelly, without eve

ANDRE'S POV Camila’s voice faded into the background as Kiera tugged her toward the breakfast room, both of them alight with girlish energy I hadn't seen in years. It made me smile, it's been long since the three of us were together and so this made me smile a bunch, but my mind somehow drifted off to Genevieve and how she reacted this morning.I trailed behind them, my body present but mind tethered to the woman upstairs wrapped in a towel and a war of silences. Genevieve's voice lingered in my head“Introduce me as what?” a blade disguised as a question.Camila chatted about croissants, the disaster of men in Milan, and how she’d nearly punched a French nobleman for trying to buy her virtue with a yacht. Kiera howled with laughter, hanging on every word. They were oblivious to the storm rumbling under my skin. The moment we stepped into the breakfast room, the staff rushed to serve. Platters of roasted vegetables, sliced fruit, toast, eggs, smoked meats an unnecessary display, but e
