My claws lengthened…just enough to tire through anything, even a brick wall. I drove them through her ribcage in one clean, surgical motion. Her eyes bulged, then a wet, surprised gasp escaped her lips. I felt the moment her heart gave one last frantic beat against my fingers then nothing but complete silence. I ripped it free in a single, brutal yank. Blood sprayed across the stone wall in a dark arc. Her body slumped, lifeless, eyes still open in frozen disbelief. I held the heart up to the moonlight. It dripped once, twice, then stilled.

Her stomach was bulging, and I wondered how fast that had happened. "Stay away from her!" I shouted at Javicia. She chuckled slowly and turned back to Hope. She pierced her hand into Hope's chest and ripped her heart out. I began panting, and my heartbeat raced. My head was pounding according to the rhythm of my fast heartbeat. I couldn't believe my eyes. Hope was gone! ***

Frank said with a hint of sterness. Winter quickly scrambled to her feet, standing near him as she explained, "I'm done with every other part, but her heart… I'm just afraid…" Frank could see what she meant right away—a tiny bone fragment was cutting into the patient's left ventricle, and blood was trickling out around it. The bleeding only increased as the patient's heart continued pumping, and the only option was to extract the bone fragment. However, that was no easy task. Extracting an object from a puncture wound in the heart could easily destabilize the patient's blood pressure. When that happened, blood would shoot out like a geyser from the wound, and there was no stopping it.

Betty's voice was barely audible as she whispered, "I know you're a good man, Mateo." Mateo's eyes dropped to her other hand, as she gently raised it placing it on his chest. He was surprised as she touched the scar on his chest. A small smile played on her lips as she said, "Beneath this torn flesh is a golden heart, but hidden by the scar of a feared man."

I walked calmly, keeping my heart and body in check for a minute until I was totally out of sight from her and now in the men's restroom. My entire body dropping flat at the sound of the door clucking shut, the thrumming of my heart exploded into a frantic shock, beating rapidly. *Thump. Thump. Thump.* “Fuck! That was so close,” I sighed underneath my breath, scraping out from total exhaustion, my eyes trailed down my shirt which was perfectly buttoned up. Honestly, I wonder what that girl is sometimes, how was she able to see these stupid hickeys on my chest? I took a deep breath, slowly calming my heart down, as my mind was still frozen in total chaos.

Her legs were suspended in the air. Everyone watched in horror but not surprised. No one stopped him. My eyes widened. "How dare you?!" he roared out. His claws emerged, and they pierced through her chest, digging deep. The lady cried out. Her voice re-echoed throughout the hall. Blood gushed out of her. To end the show, he ripped out her heart and dropped the body and the heart separately. I staggered back. My stomach tied in knots. I felt sick to my stomach. My hands flew to my face, covering my mouth.

It was better if I just blocked her phone number. Anger flares for a moment, sharp and hot, a desire to cut her out of my life with one clean motion. But underneath the anger is something more dangerous, a small, bitter grief that will not be soothed by blocking a number. Blocking her will not bring back the nights I held Jude’s hand or the promises we made in whispers. Blocking is only a gesture, it cannot undo what she has taken. I get out of the office like a madwoman, completely confused about where I was going. The heartbreak was too much for me to handle. I just could not take it anymore. This was too much.

It held me, suffocated me. For the first time in my life, I knew. .. I could lose her. And I didn't know why. Nurse's perspective "Patient needs surgery! She's not gonna make it like this!" I shouted while I pressed down on her chest, trying to get her heart going. "She can't be taken into surgery yet—her vitals are too unstable!" another nurse yelled back. I gritted my teeth. "She has one kidney left, and it's rejecting the radiation therapy! We have to move now, or we're going to lose her!"

Still, his eyes stayed fixed on me, unwilling to close. Blood poured from the wound on his back, staining my hands bright red. I held him tightly, my fingers trembling as my tears fell in silence. I was overwhelmed by anger and an indescribable, complicated pain. Once we arrived at the hospital, doctors rushed him into emergency surgery. Thanks to quick action, he was narrowly saved from death. Still, the injury was severe, particularly to his heart. He would have to be extremely careful from now on, as any misstep could easily become fatal.

The bodies were taken away by the ambulances successfully and the area was being tidied up while the blood was being soused. All seemed to be going well as the stain of blood was washed away but the pain in Niel's heart escalated every second making him roll on the floor vulnerably. The guards had to drug him earlier on away from the sight of others but his eyes withheld the time their corpse was being taken away. He cried all the way and even forced to free himself from their arms but some policemen came to help drag him away.
