Rage pressed on me, I raised my hands and slammed them against the steering wheel as I grew jealous. “Mrs Castellanos' wife had not only disgraced him in public or handed him divorce papers, she had defiled their marriage vows with a man named 'X', identity not yet revealed.“ I wanted to back off the stage and there was another — the clip of Sienna slapping me, however those weren't what fueled in me, it was the headlines and who posted them. How close were they to us? “Guess who's pregnant? Mrs Castellanos' but the rising question is who out of every investor she has seduced, her husband or even Mr 'X' owns the child?“

He lapped at it quickly so as not to let it drop to the ground but from another person's view, it would like he looked like a starving dog. Therion looked like a starving dog, Ashriel though deliriously as he watched the bigger man eat of his plate with no utensils. He swore to disgrace and degrade the man any way he could not stopping till he destroyed any once of pride he possessed. Then he could finish him off. Just then a group of people walked into the hall, all clad in uniform. Workers apparently. The maid from earlier who served them, retrieved Ashriels plate while her colleagues stood in a horizontal queue in front of the table.

Luke headed to the desk at the very end of the room. Ophelia was intrigued to check the frames in the library. A man such as Dustin with photo frames in his study? Sounded off to her ears. As she approached and picked one, she saw a woman with pitch-black hair. Penelope. She was smiling brightly in the picture as she held her summer hat from flying off. Ophelia couldn’t help but wonder if Dustin was genuinely in love with Penelope. The smile plastering her young face was a happy one, and it couldn’t be fake – or meant for the demon she pierced with her sword.

Her dark blonde curls were pulled into a high ponytail, and a scar traced the curve of her jaw like jewelry. “You always sneak up on people reading ancient war texts?” I asked. “Only the cute ones,” she shot back. My face heated. “Excuse me?” She laughed. “Relax, newbie. I’m Chloe. Nightfang’s best archer and second-best flirt.” “Penelope,” I said, standing awkwardly. “New housekeeper.” She chuckled. “Nice to meet you, Penelope. So, how’s the new housekeeping job? Boring?” “No. I swing swords and daggers every day ‘cause I’m a warrior.”

She looked small again, shoulders curling in, hands clutching the hem of her large shirt. I looked between them, frowning. “You two know each other?” Neither of them answered. “Mr. Alanis,” Penelope said, her voice was higher now, and she was trying so hard to keep its usual sweetness but already cracked at the edges. “Why is she here?” “I brought her.” “She wasn’t supposed to come,” Penelope snapped, stepping around me like she didn’t care I was in the way. “I told her not to come.” “I told her to stay.”

said Susan with an award winning smile and said,” You have five daughters and one son. “Ahhh! It goes both the ways, Miss Rollo…I thought that I had been blessed with so many children and they would understand my pain and all that I need but unfortunately that did not happen. “The real world will separate the winners from the losers.” Sophie didn’t respond. Silence was one of the earliest weapons Lucian had taught her. Pandora’s smirk only sharpened, as if Sophie’s lack of reaction insulted her more than any possible retort. Beside Pandora stood Penelope, her best friend and most devoted follower. Penelope was all glossy hair and long legs, pretty and vacant-eyed, laughing at every cruel comment Pandora made a second too late, like she had to catch up. She repeated Pandora’s opinions as if they were her own and trailed after her like a shadow.

“I thought -“ I sighed. “You know what? Send my kind regards to Lucius and his new bride. I heard they tied the knot just 3 days after I left Brooklyn.” Of all the people to call me, I didn’t expect it to be Penelope. She was like a friend to me, and whenever I needed someone to talk to when Olivia made my life difficult, she was there. She was a sister I never had, and I trusted her to have my back whenever I needed her, but now I was disappointed that she would say such things to me. “His new wife is Don Ross’s niece. She’s the richest female in the world right now, after Don Ross’s daughter. Can you believe that?”

A formal inspection right now? Valerie gripped the edge of the table, her fingernails digging into the cool surface. Eleanor Sterling was not just Killian’s mother. She was a human bulldozer in a high-fashion suit, a woman who made powerful corporate bosses sweat through their shirts. What if Eleanor saw right through her? What if the Sterlings thought she was a cheap gold-digger chasing their family billions? Worse, what if they found she was just using Killian to bounce back from her mess with Damian Vance? "Valerie," Killian said.

Anne hated being there, for as much as she wants to have Dean, she didn’t think working with his worst enemy was the way to go. “I am sure Mrs. Arnold had heard about this new development about our cunning sirens,” Penelope taunt. “Yes, they are royalty unfortunately,” Mrs. Arnold says, “But your majesty, I am sure you have a plan on how to counter this.” “Why is it my problem you are the one trying to be the mother of a queen,” Penelope says, “Anne over there is trying to get Dean to be hers and you are helping her. So shouldn’t this be your problem Mrs. Arnold.”
