In the distance, the dust cloud of Varak’s approaching army darkened the horizon. Riven rode beside Kael at the head of the formation. Their horses moved in sync. Their eyes kept meeting. Every glance carried the weight of everything still unsaid. As the first enemy banners appeared in the distance, Riven spoke without looking at him. “Whatever happens today, Draven, know this.
