It fishtailed wildly to the right, spun a full one hundred and eighty degrees, then careened off the edge of the road and plunged, soundlessly, into the black void of the gorge below. "No way" Rowan's mind churned with conflicting emotions. He rushed to his car and sped out of the house. While driving away he dialed his mother's number. "Mom, did the police officers mention where the road rage happened?" He asked when she answered the call. "What happened?" Madam Xi asked, alarmed. "Just answer the question, mom," Rowan snapped.

Robbie responded seriously, his voice still filled with fear. The fear seemed to spread through the car. The others began to look out the windows silently, as if also bracing for an accident. “What’s really going on? Tell me the whole story,” the woman asked, growing uneasy. She was worried that Robbie was spreading fear. “I only met them once. I warned them and told them who was backing me, but Edmund didn’t back down. He even wanted to fight us. “Unexpectedly, I got into an accident that day itself. If not for the driver’s quick thinking, I might have been dead now.”

The betrayal was mind-numbing, more brutal than my bruises, and with every replay, water gathered in my eyes, threatening to flood my cheeks. Within minutes, the road became congested. Cars that had been racing to their destinations could no longer move, jammed together by the obstacle ahead. For some unknown reason, there was no security official to handle the unexpected, serious traffic. I could hear the angry shouts from people who didn't realize that the accident that I was now in, was the reason for the traffic. Doors slammed loudly and angrily as impatient drivers began to get out to see what was going on. Gasps of shock filled the air as they wondered aloud about the accident.
