The creature's body was slime-like, yet it seemed to have short limbs and a small mouth that produces a harsh hissing sound when it opens. "Don't call them junk," the elderly professor replied. Struggling to stand up from sitting on his chair, he gently placed the book he's reading on his desk, which was also filled with empty laboratory flasks, notebooks and pens. There was a stain of spilled ink covering the upper corner of his disorganized table. His hair and beard are almost white, with visible streaks of gray, and along with his crumpled and stained lab coat, they all seemed to have been unattended for a long while now.

I ask him about the research on Justin and her family. “Nothing suspicious. They did have a land dispute with a vampire family, years back. I doubt if they knew they were vampires, but it’s something to look into.” I nod, giving him a go ahead. I go back to the kitchen, to get something to eat. Oliver made spaghetti and meatballs. He’s a good cook, his grandmother taught. I don’t even know what my grandparents names are. I never bother to ask. “What about Alpha Elias? Heard from him yet?”

“ Who is that girl Maximo? “ Romano asked. “ Corinna. She is my assistant. “ I answered. He nodded his head and I knew he was thinking about something. Had I been wrong about Maximo’s intentions with Corinna? No, I couldn’t be. Maximo was a jerk, the biggest one. So why did it seem like he genuinely seemed happy in Corinna’s company?
