Hands lifted.

Scissors.
Zoe threw rock, and James threw scissors.
He lost.
A murmur rippled through the room.
“Uh oh.”
“I don't want to wash this."
A familiar card appeared before Zoe—blank as always, glowing softly.
The comments hesitated.
