Raff collapsed to the ground, gasping for air and clutching his painful stomach. Rolf dashed towards Raff, where he collapsed down on the ground and extended a helping hand. Then a weatherman appeared, but his face was pixelated into sharp, angry blocks, and the crawl at the bottom of the screen read: ERR://0x7F3A::NO_HUMAN_FOUND::RETRY? I turned it off. I sat in the dark for a while. The silence was worse than the noise had been. My laptop screen still glowed from the corner of the room, a waterfall of corrupted text falling endlessly. I watched it for too long. I started to see patterns. Not letters or numbers. Something else. Something that looked like it was trying to spell a word in a language that didn't exist yet.

“Ladies and gentlewolves. If you were here this morning, I would like to give a disclaimer that the photographs you are about to see are much more disturbing than the ones this morning.” He clicks a button on his remote control and displays pictures of Zara that were taken in the Crystal Lake emergency room. Rocky howls at the photographs. It’s the first time I’ve seen them too. Anyone who bothered by the images this morning is going to be disturbed by these. I look out at the audience, who gasp when the pictures pop up on the screen. Some people turn their heads to avoid looking at the gruesome images. “Zara, do you remember these photographs being taken?”

The smaller one gathered up the lighter things. I made a note of the plate number out of habit, and then unfolded the flyer and stared at it as they drove off. It was a cheap-looking photocopy covered with what looked like ads for horror movies that had been torn out of a newspaper, with hand drawn pictures of skulls and bats filling all the other blank spaces. Rafe is far richer than Faghri. Rafe replies in a sad voice, "I looked in the cave, but there's no sign of anyone. Then Rafe reminds Faghri of something strange they saw. "Remember when the black wolf disappeared?" he asks. They both saw a mysterious black wolf turn into a bunch of fireflies. Faghri, quiet for a moment, agrees with Rafe. He also saw the wolf turn into fireflies, which doesn't make sense. Even though Faghri doesn't usually believe in magic, he can't ignore what he saw with his own eyes.
