The Rogue whimpered as he laid on the ground, the brick cracked behind him from the impact, before he went limp. That was two Rogues… But there had been three. I spun around then to see that the final Rogue, a smaller and scrappier one, was hungrily sniffing at Moana. A low, thunderous growl rumbled in my throat as I stalked closer to him. At the same time, a loud lightning strike lit up the sky. The Rogue slowly lifted his head, his dopey eyes shifting back and forth. When he realized that he was the only one left and that his leader was possibly even dead, he quickly turned tail and ran like a coward without even a moment of hesitation.

Before I could figure out how to help him down, a sudden movement flickered at the corner of my eyes. The Rogue Alpha comes out from somewhere in his human form, eyes glowing murky gold and a cruel grin tugging at his lips. In a blink of an eye, he was already before my gaze with his hand reaching out to grab my neck. Luckily, I sharply avoided him with his shifted claws grabbing the air. However, the Rogue Alpha seemed to have anticipated that as he suddenly goes behind and a searing pain instantly shot through one of my hind legs.

Then I saw him. A tall man, by a black jeep. Broad shoulders. Black hair and an eye patch that still made him look dangerous and alluring. Del Morino. The Rogue Alpha. He looked right at me. Sharp, grey eyes. No smile. No words. But something in the air just shifted. Power and danger. And something else. I don't know what. Clarissa put her hand on my back. “Be a good girl, now. He doesn’t like weak women.” I turned to her, my eyes burning. “Then it’s a good thing I’m done being weak.”

I wasn’t trying to get too close so I stayed where I was. “Human..” He said in a creepy way and ran his tongue over his lips. From what I know, rogues are cursed wolves and they do not have special abilities equivalent to actual wolves but are equally dangerous.. but good thing about them.. you don’t need silver to kill them. “Do you have some?” I asked since he wasn’t saying anything but looking at me like a prey. My heart beat loudly for a moment there but I had to keep my composure and focus.

He cracked his knuckles, a subtle but chilling sound that echoed in the confined space. “Three against one? I guest i’m that strong for you to come to me all at once.” he said, his voice low and steady, laced with a confidence that sent shivers down my spine. “But mind you, You’ll regret this,” The first rogue lunged, claws bared and teeth gnashing. Zero sidestepped effortlessly, grabbing the rogue by the wrist and twisting it with a sickening snap. The rogue howled in pain, but Zero didn’t stop. He yanked the rogue forward, slamming his knee into the attacker’s gut before tossing him into a pile of trash bags like he weighed nothing.

I stepped forward so that I was next to Jacob, one small step that brought me so much closer to the unknown. He was peering at a man. His body was larger than average, but not broad: he was spindly, like the leg of a spider. I squinted into the darkness, something about his eyes seeming familiar. One looked scarred, with claw marks sunk deep into his eye socket. His eye was half-shut, as though it was too painful to open. I grabbed Jacob’s arm, and mindlinked him. That’s the rogue I fought the other day. I heard his sharp intake of breath.

Another Rogue. Only that this one has no smell.
