The mirror reflections screamed in fury. Camela lifted the dagger, both of them gripping it tightly together. The paper-based figure shrieked in protest. “No! The rule is sacred…” In unison, they plunged the dagger into the circle. The stone cracked open wide, and light exploded upward in a blinding white flash. The mirror reflections shrank away, melting into black rivers. The paper-based figure screamed, its mouth stretching grotesquely across its face: “You cannot escape betrayal!” As the circle shattered, the ground shook violently beneath them.

Manolya screamed, the sound raw and piercing. “Manolya, it’s an imitator!” I snarled, circling the edge of the light. Its cursed circle kept me at bay, a spell I could not break. “Allow me to shift! I can’t do it without your permission, the circle prevents me!”
