The Rose That Left His World

The Rose That Left His World

The girl leaned close, and the boy looked up at her, the corners of his eyes curving slightly. His gaze was full of her. He smiled and pointed to the flowerpot she had just placed nearby. Half teasing, he said, “Then Cecilia is a red rose. Delicate and thorny. Only I can afford to take care of you.” Cecilia turned and looked at the roses Lucas had placed in the room that morning. And tears streamed silently down her face.

A Bed Of Roses

A Bed Of Roses

My voice was low, flat, and respectful. "Good," he said, stepping closer. "The dock reports are clear. Maldok’s port managers are processing our cargo without trouble. The estate is secure." I looked at him, picking up on the cold focus in his eyes. "Does that mean I can walk down to the conservatory? Or the rear garden?" Martinez stopped two feet away from me. He looked down at my face, his expression unreadable. "Why do you want to go to the garden, Rodah?"

Roses Rising Above the Thorns

Roses Rising Above the Thorns

"How much further do we have to go? Are you trying to wear me out on our first day of marriage?" Gabriel laughed along and pointed to a villa about 30 feet ahead. Freya looked up and saw a burst of vibrant red. With the sky growing darker and the light too dim to make out what they were, she asked, "What's that?" Gabriel stayed silent and pulled her along as he ran. When they reached the gate and pushed it open, Freya was met by a garden bursting with royal poinciana blossoms, their flowers swarming every branch. Her eyes sparkled with excitement as she gazed up, lost in the beautiful sea of blossoms. A breeze picked up, sending the red petals fluttering to the ground. It felt surreal, like

Alpha's Rejected Slave

Alpha's Rejected Slave

He presents a bouquet of roses. A purple rose. “You.. may leave,” he drops it at the centre table, bows and shuts the door behind my eyes fixated on the amazing gift. A purple rose is endemic situated in the north region which is the farthest and it's a journey comprising crossing over lakes and oceans to get it at the heart of the island. What can’t this man do to make me happy? “This rose is so precious and it’s fresh I must preserve it,” I say to myself swiftly getting to action, grabbing it off the table and hurrying to the garden.

The Dark Rose

The Dark Rose

“Only good little humans get to cum, Rose.” I wiped my mouth furiously and glared at him as he admired my flushed body. “I don’t want you to make me cum. I don’t want you touching me ever again!” “Careful what you wish for,” he smirked. “Now get dressed. I have the perfect task for you today.” ೋღ🌹ღೋ

Twisted Game: My Stepbrother is my bully

Twisted Game: My Stepbrother is my bully

I watched in confusion as Alec pulled a black rose from his back pocket and held it up. What are they going to do with a rose? I don't understand. “This Rose is symbolic of what we are. We grow, and we stay strong. We are black in hearts and black in minds. We do what we have to do for our family. It's a rite of passage and has been for generations. You will accept this rose from your new masters.” Zane says, as he brings my pointer finger down hard on a thorn before making my blood drip on top of the rose.

ROSE; its petals and thorns

ROSE; its petals and thorns

Jayden flips her folds with his right thumb, his other hand caressing her plum breast. She whimpers, her back arcing upward. She’s so sensitive, Jayden realized. “Did she tell you how stubborn we are?” he asked, applying pressure on her clit, teasing her with his calloused thumb. “Did she tell you that once we like someone, we never ever leave them alone?” he smacked her breast lightly. Rita, helpless and sore, cries out. It’s hard to discern the cry. Is it from pleasure or helplessness? She—’

The Substitute Villainess

The Substitute Villainess

Albert Crousse and La France fluttered in the silent wind , Chelsea loved these two especially La France with its exquisite charming look , that pink splattered with crimson was simply beautiful and their mild fragrance was enchanting . But that was not the complete truth , she indeed loved Peonies because they weren't intoxicating like roses but she loved them because these flowers were the ones Rogue had given her on the day of their engagement . Peonies signified happy marriage and when Rogue gifted her these flowers , she was over the moon . She believed Rogue gave her these peonies because just like her , he wanted a happy marriage with her but -

I've only read 15 chaps so far, but this is a good piece. Though I think it needs a bit editing, but it's still a loveable story. I love the MC and her personality, more to rational and realistic. Hope MC won't end with the prince or other 'fishes', but still have her happy ending. Good job, Author~

Roses & Thorns

Roses & Thorns

And as usual when I get up from bed I get the urge to vomit but thanks to Dadi I have now remedy for it. I brush my teeth, wash up and get ready in royal blue and pink colored lehenga and wear simple jewelry and the necklace which Rudra gifted me in Parvatha. I eat some amla from one of the box to control my nausea a bit as I go to ring the bell to call Hira. But before I can do that Rudra comes in the room and he has a single red rose in his hand. He looks at me with sweetest smile and comes towards me.

Akyran's Folly

Akyran's Folly

An ancestor of Akyran’s had a penchant for roses, and the gardens overflowed with them, their perfume rich in the air. We crossed through the gardens, our cloaks caught by the thorns, towards the side entrance. Akyran paused and plucked a night-blooming white Fae-rose, a bloom rare and highly sought after for its perfume and as spell components and protected in this garden by the king. Only Akyran would dare to pluck one of these blooms so casually. He pinched off the thorns and handed it to me. “Part payment,” he said with a grin.

Frequently Asked Questions

Reading historical fiction sometimes feels like navigating a hall of mirrors, and 'Rose Gate' sits right in that blurry, wonderful middle. It's not a straight dramatization of a specific event you can point to in a history book, but the texture is too real to be purely invented. The depiction of class rigidity, property laws, and women's economic vulnerability in that era feels researched to the bone. I kept wanting to look up the 'real' family it was based on, only to realize the author wove threads from so many real-life cases of inheritance disputes and coverture laws into something new. That's the trick, I think. The events are fiction, but the societal cage it depicts is painfully historical.

What sealed it for me were the footnotes in the back of the paperback edition referencing actual court cases and journals from the period. The central scandal of the forged will? Pure invention, but the legal mechanisms it exploits were absolutely there, waiting to be used. It reads like a 'what if' scenario built on a very solid foundation of 'what was'. That's why the injustice hits so hard—you know this didn't happen to Elara Vane, but you also know it could have, and probably did to someone with a different name.
