Darkest Love (cursed)

Darkest Love (cursed)

DARKEST LOVE (CURSED) CHAPTER THIRTY TWO * * The faint sound of leaves rustling and the whistle from the evening breeze along with the faint chirping of the forests creature was the only sound heard. They both stared at each other, none moving an inch from their spot. Allanon's gaze was deep and unfathomable, what was going through his mind, Morgen couldn't tell. He staggered to his feet slowly wearing a bleak expression, His features were pale and under the moonlight that infiltrated through the leaves.

She is My Hope

She is My Hope

" I heard the voice whispered in my ear, a promise that made my soul yearn to reach, that made me fall to my knees, taking a deep breath as tears streamed down my face. It was so easy, so easy to give up. To never feel that pain again and to give up this rage that consumes me. All I had to do was curl up in this darkness and make it my blanket, my protection, my shield. "I'm tired..." My voice is a whisper and when I finally realize that that darkness is going to take me I am pulled out. Dylan POV

Midnight Whispers

Midnight Whispers

Letting out plumes of pure darkness and shadows. I had lost my Alpha, and now the unfortunate others whose bodies now littered the floor. This was chaos! The man’s shadows started taking a more humanoid appearance as they attacked the wolves with talons as they struggled to escape. I gulped, all this magic. Dark evil magic. What would that make mine? The thought kept fluttering around my brain as more wolves ran out. I stiffened hearing Kayla scream. She was surrounded by two Shadows. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Jacob sneak past. He just left. Leaving us here to fend for ourselves or die! Left his mate to fend for herself. He didn't even bother to glance back as he scurried out the ent

His Darkest Obsession

They stop right outside of the door and I hear someone fiddle with some keys before placing them in the door and unlocking it. My heart is about to beat out of my chest and it starts to ring in my ears from me panicking. It feels like it takes forever, and I'm going to die from a heart attack before the door is slowly opened. I don't see anything else at first but some lights coming inside the room, then a tall and dark person appears in the doorway. I don't see his face in the darkness but I feel his cold aura even from where I stand. My legs are about to go out under me when I see him take long strides toward where I stand!

The Whispers in the Woods

The Whispers in the Woods

It was like I was half awake. As though I was there, but not really. I could feel the jostling and movement, but my head felt so heavy and sore. I could feel myself drifting in and out of nothingness. From the darkness, I heard a howl. It almost seemed to confirm my demise. I tried harder to escape the dark prison I was in. The tiniest shaft of glowing light entered my mind. I tried harder still when I heard another howl, but it seemed to be further away.

Whispers of the Forgotten

Whispers of the Forgotten

The landscape was alien and foreboding, a surreal amalgamation of shifting shadows and fragmented structures that seemed perpetually on the verge of collapse. The air was thick with an unsettling stillness, broken only by the occasional whisper of forgotten memories. Each whisper was like a ghostly touch against her skin, a fleeting sensation that left her shivering. The whispers were disjointed, fragments of conversations, cries, and laughter that seemed to echo from the very walls of Nyxterra. They whispered her name in haunting, fragmented tones, urging her deeper into the darkness.

Alpha Nox

Alpha Nox

1391° W Pass through the arch of liquid moonlight, and find the man who carries the stars on his flesh. Tell him you have heard the whispers. Tell him the Darkness is here, with the moon and stars it’s guide. Do not look over your shoulder as you follow him into the night, only ahead. Do not eat or drink anything, and when you meet the Whisperer, no matter how tempting it may be, do not look into his eyes.

This was the 3rd Jane Doe book I read. Alpha nox is a really good read with a badass female lead. You're a talented author and I can say you've become my favorite author! My heart broke into pieces at some point but intense emotions are what I love the most about your work! Good job, Jane!

Frequently Asked Questions

God, I keep seeing people get tripped up on the whole central 'mystery' of 'Darkest Whisper'. I think a lot of readers come in expecting a classic whodunit, but it's way more tangled up in the protagonist's own fractured perception than that. The main thing we're supposed to be figuring out is the exact nature of the voice the main character, Aris, keeps hearing. Is it a supernatural entity attached to the creepy old house he inherits? A psychological fracture from some past trauma he's repressed? Or is it something else entirely, like a memory or a curse passed down through his family line?

For me, the book layers its central question. The 'whisper' itself is the primary mystery—its origin, intent, and reality. But solving that mystery is completely dependent on unraveling the secondary one: what actually happened to Aris's reclusive great-uncle, who died under strange circumstances in that same house. The will that leaves him the property is weirdly specific and restrictive, which feels like a clue in itself. You spend the whole book trying to separate the supernatural red herrings from the psychological ones, and the text is really clever about making every possible explanation seem equally plausible until the very last section.

The ending, without spoiling, hinges on a revelation that re-contextualizes both mysteries as two sides of the same coin. It's less about a ghost and more about the echoes of guilt and choices. Some fans felt cheated because it wasn't a traditional paranormal reveal, but I thought it made the haunting feel much more personal and, in a way, scarier.
