I couldn’t stop staring. The rogue camp was nothing like I expected. It wasn’t cold or strict like Bloodfang, where everyone feared making a single mistake. Here, everything was alive. Messy. Warm. Real. A group of wolves sat by a fire, laughing and passing a bottle around. Near another tent, two women sparred playfully, throwing punches and laughing without anger. Children ran between tents, shouting and chasing each other in a wild game of tag. Children. In a rogue camp.

Four minutes. The room somehow seemed darker than normal. It was even worse than when the window got smashed and was boarded up with planks of wood for weeks. Adira remembered the way Brax would move around the room, chasing the minimal light let in by the board’s cracks. It wasn’t a lot but it was something at least. Back then, the slightest sliver of light felt like a privilege, a blessing among the darkness both physical and spiritual that consumed them.

Rosalie's gaze became firm. A few days later, Aurora read the latest chapter of the novel about how she made Angie her scapegoat. Who exactly was writing this novel?! Aurora's heart raced. Phone in hand, she dialed a number with trembling fingers. "Hello, I want to see you." In the middle of the night, Aurora arrived at a bungalow. The place was secluded, but the lights in the house were still switched on. She could smell barbecued meat when she entered.

“How’s the pain?” “I’ll live.” I grunted as I picked up the books she had dropped to distract myself from the pain of her checking over my injuries. “I found those on Stephanie’s bookshelf.” She chuckled. “Thought you could use something to keep you busy. I picked that one because the author has my name.” I looked more closely at the books she had brought, chuckling when I saw that one was titled ‘The Rogue Queen’ by Rory McCauley-Hayman. I waved the second book titled ‘Breaking The Bond’, in the air.

'Quagmire' is a romance novel which possesses a lot of twists, turns, complications but still enough romance to keep it interesting and thrilling. The Rouge instinctively backed away, raising its hackles at the sight of the giant white wolf. Then it attacked again like a crazed animal; it leapt with its jaws wide open towards Nueva's neck. Before it made contact with her flesh Nueva veered and sunk her tusk-sized fangs into the Rouges back and flung it through the air. The animal landed heavily on its side and slid across the icy ground.

The soul-satisfying rumble of the motor made me smile as I clicked it into gear and took off down the street. Riding my bike as if I stole it, I zipped in and out of traffic until I reached the open road. The Rogues clubhouse came into view as I rounded the corner. An old abandoned bar had been converted into a clubhouse, the neon sign hung from the roof blinking off and on intermittently, buzzing as it swung in the wind. A veranda wrapped around the front, with tables and mismatched chairs placed haphazardly was a dumping place for bottles and ashtrays.

The rouges paused when her sweet voice turned to ice cold “Well…well…well…you want to know what I’m gonna do?” She asked as she moved a step. Her eyes were glowing gold by now as she told them exactly what she would do “I will kill you and have fun doing it…” She said in a still cold voice. The rouge laughed and then shifted back to wolf form before lunging at her. Rose was quick to grab the rouge by the maw and rip him in half. Blood poured over the ground as she tossed the two halves to the sides. The other rouges growled and crossed the lake to attack her. Rose felt a sharp pain in her abdomen and a gush of fluid hit the ground and run down her leg.
