"Ms. Nicholls, the Jeffersons have sent a representative. They say it's urgent business."
Aspen looked up, her pen hovering over the documents. A visit from the Jeffersons at this hour was no coincidence. She nodded after a moment's thought. "Show them in."
A middle-aged man in a charcoal gray suit entered with measured steps, carrying an unmistakable air of authority.
"Ms. Nicholls, your reputation precedes you. I'm John Miller, Mr. Jefferson Senior's right hand." The man nodded slightly, his smile polite yet distant.
