Chapter Three; The balcony collision Adrian's POV; The conversation was going great until the princess started making moves on me. Her fingers dragged as she placed them in my hand. I pretended not to understand what she was trying to do, she moved her seat closer until our seats were touching each other. Her gown had a slit cut on her upper thigh. My chest tightened as the call connected. A man answered warmly. “Your Highness.” “Good morning,” Henry replied smoothly. “Sorry to disturb you.” “Not at all.” The voice sounded official. Henry glanced at me briefly before continuing. “I wanted to ask about the French royal family.” My stomach twisted instantly. The French royal family? The man on the phone chuckled softly. “They’ve certainly had a difficult few months.” Henry nodded lightly. “Yes. That’s actually why I’m asking.” I stared at him carefully.

Carolina started at her, stunned, and then a fraction of fear mixed with rage swarmed through her eyes, and she dashed in her direction, but before she could reach her, everyone gathered closer. A horn blasted, silencing the crowd. "The Royals have arrived!" Rosalie breathed deeply as Prince Cassian Valen stepped onto the dais. He was breathtaking. Clad in white and gold military regalia that emphasized his broad shoulders and royal bloodline, he looked like a god descended to earth. His blonde hair caught the moonlight, and his blue eyes scanned the crowd with a princely grace. Surely the girl who'd be his mate would be so lucky, she thought.
