Kael staggered, blood blooming on his lip, but Rune didn’t stop, his icy blue eyes blazing with rage. “Stay the fuck away from her,” Rune growled, his voice low and lethal, his silver hair wild, his pale face flushed with fury. Kael recovered fast, his green eyes narrowing, fist cocking back for a counterpunch. “You think you can—”

Rune The air around Embereign is thick with the smell of charred wood, molten rock, and despair. The once-glorious Kingdom of Fire had been gutted, like a hunter’s prey. It isn’t the fire of home and hearth, of passion and warmth, but the fire of destruction, of a kingdom on the brink of collapse. It clawed at my senses, but I pushed through as I walked with the men who have become closer to me than any brother.

However, these families’ main job is to protect the crown and the kingdom and it is said that they’re very good at it. Due to their contribution, the Fire Kingdom’s military is well known in the continent. Aside from that, they are also very adept in rune magic. Although their mastery over this field does not exceed the Water Kingdom, they have their own scripture that they used as runes that is second only to the Water Kingdom. This mastery over rune magic is one of the keys in winning some positions in the war. However, that does not mean that the King and Queens are only symbolic figure to the kingdom. They still hold the highest position and the ones to decide what happens next.
