What the hell just happened? He had been smug about a twenty, very sure that there was no way anyone could beat it… after all, it wasn't easy for someone to play a blackjack - the highest ranking score in the game. Who would have thought Kylan would beat his hard hand by one? Richard felt like his throat was on fire, his eyes widening when the chips at his side disappeared.

But before I forget, if you run out of cards, you pick up five more off the top of the pile and we keep going until they are all gone.” I nodded as I looked at my small hand. “Do you have a seven?” I asked as shook his head and pointed to the deck. I picked up the top card and it was a red one. I paired up the cards and set them among my current pairs. We kept going until all the cards were gone. “Now we count the pairs and whoever has the most wins.” I counted thirteen pairs. “Fifteen pairs, so I win.” He explained as he collected the cards and then shuffled them. “Not bad for your first time.”

"Don't worry, Peter, your luck will change. You will see." He didn't think so. The shoe had a count of minus fif- teen, highly favoring the house. Yet, that knowledge didn't change his play, even though any reasonable card-counter would have backed off for a while, come back in when the count climbed. Peter was an odd duck of a counter. He counted because he could. His brain worked so fast and it was so effortless for him that having mastered the technique, he couldn't

You roll sixes for points, the winners being the first team to reach 21. Each six is one point, and if five sixes are rolled, the first person to call bunko gets fifteen points. The losers shift places at the table and the winners move up to the next table. Each time you move you get new partners, except for the head table, where you keep your partner. If you lose there you go to the bottom table and start up again. The twist we are putting on it is that the men stay in the chairs at the each table, if their team loses and the women move, the winning team moves up
