The guild members gathered around a large van, their expressions resolute. "Everyone ready?" Samuel's voice carried a mix of determination and urgency. Nods and affirmations rippled through the guild members, their eyes fixed on the task ahead. Jota adjusted his grip on the machine gun, his eyes meeting Samuel's. "Let's end this," he said, his voice firm. Samuel's car pulled away from the curb, the powerful engine propelling them forward. Jota climbed into the back of the van with the guild members, the doors closing with a resounding thud.

Ruan bellowed, hauling me up and shoving me toward Jax, who was already revving his engine. "Ruan, no!" "I’ll find you!" he roared over the sound of the gunfire, his revolver barking as he laid down cover fire. "Jax, get her out of here! That’s an order!" Jax grabbed me by the waist and swung me onto the back of his bike. I screamed Ruan’s name, but the roar of the engines drowned me out. We surged forward, weaving through the chaos, the heat of the burning buildings singeing my skin. I looked back and saw Ruan standing alone in the middle of the street, a silhouette of defiance against the army of green and black. Men in tactical gear were already stepping out of the sedans, the long barrels of assault rifles catching the glare of the lights. "Ambush!" I yelled into the radio, my foot instantly slamming onto the brake pedal. The heavy SUV fishtailed violently across the asphalt, the smell of burning rubber filling the cabin as Rodah let out a sharp gasp, her hands throwing themselves onto the dashboard to brace for impact.

Xavian and Xian, on the other hand, act heartbroken, as though they expected I would trust their words that easily. “Then hurry. Prepare the men…” I pause, staring at the table. I need a distraction. Anything to stop thinking about today’s fit with my bleeder. “In fact… I will lead the ambush. Prepare a ride for us, Trevor.” I say it, and he nods, hurrying out of the room. My wolf rises instantly to the surface, readying for the thrill of the kill. It is about an hour later when we arrive at the scene. Deep inside the woods, silence engulfs the entire space, except Xavian and Xian remain a nuisance, chittering endlessly, now on their third bottle of alcohol.

He looked a bit confused. "What did they do?" I asked him. "We don't know, Ara. They were all out for a party. There were other families too. Only three people made it out of the ambush alive." Alessio muttered. His eyebrows pulled together. "Did the survivors inform you?" I asked him. Alessio shook his head as he met my confused gaze. "All the survivors were children. Russo, Egor he's a Russian boss's son, Angelo's mother and you." Niko said.

Rook came up on my left, blood streaked on his sleeve but still moving like he had no plans to die tonight. “Tell me this was your idea of fun,” he snapped over the gunfire. I shot the man trying to flank us and said, “You’re welcome to leave.” “I hate you sometimes.” “Later.” A short laugh escaped him, then vanished as another burst of gunfire split the air. The fight did not last long once the ambush broke. It never does. Once the first line fails, panic spreads.
