MY TABOO STEP DADDY
Everyone freezes, eyes train on the empty, open door.
Caleb scuttles inside, I shift against the wall, and the man swallows.
“What is that?” Yosef's voice quivers.
Chain rattles from afar, screams ring, earth quaking.
A gunshot blasts.
“My fucking leg!”
“Run!”
“They’ve gone mad!”
Footsteps close in, before a crashing sound, and a man prattling in Russian.
Then it sounds: deep, terrifying growls.
The room holds its breath. A soldier pulls out his Pistol. “Is that what I think it is?”
