Romans & histoires Russian Roulette: One Life

I paused a few inches away from him, spinning the revolver in close examination. “A game?” He murmured in a voice thick with dread. “Yes, Cory.” I stopped spinning and reached into my pockets for a couple of billets. “Ever heard of the Russian roulette game?” Slowly, his eyes grew wider, to the point of popping out of their sockets, as he started to realize where we were headed. Together. Well he would separate from me, eventually, if he didn’t cooperate. On his way to freaking hell. “Please,” he started in a quivering voice, “don’t do this.”

“Let it go.” I considered it for a moment, then pulled the trigger. Click. Nothing. The Russian froze. His breathing turned shaky, his chest rising and falling fast. For a second, he looked confused. Then it hit him that he was still alive. His eyes darted between me and the gun, his body stiff, waiting for what would happen next. A drop of sweat rolled down his face. No one moved. My men stayed still. The Bratva stayed still. Everyone was holding their breath, waiting to see if I’d pull the trigger again.

His voice was low and soft, and it scared me more than if he would have shouted. “Watch how you speak to me, or you’ll soon find out how sick I really am.” My breath shook, but I held his stare. Russian roulette. One blink, and I’d be dead. Maybe that would be a quicker demise than what he had in store for me. His eyes warned, Don’t play games you can’t win. Mine said, This isn’t a game. It’s hell. After a tense pause, he released me. “You, Mila, are just a means to an end. I won’t say I didn’t enjoy it though.” His gaze flicked to the TV as my moans grew louder. “Such an enthusiastic kotyonok.”

My hands started to tremble. "Let's play Russian roulette. Shall we? Plot twist, you're the only player." I gulped. Has he gone stark raving mad? Without dilly-dallying, he loaded a bullet into one of the chambers of his revolver. Spinning the cylinder, he stared back at me with a fiendish grin. Before I could process anything, he placed the gun's muzzle near my head and fired. The amount of shock that banged my system was unsurpassable, beyond comparison. Now I fully understand he wouldn't bat an eyelash just to eradicate a nobody like me.

Mae didn't find the sight gory, it wasn't the first time someone was dying in front of her but she just couldn't believe the man who had single handedly killed six men to bring her yet was just shot dead by him. "This is a Russian pistol, Tokrev Tt-33," Leo was back to swirling the gun's trigger guard around his finger when he spoke to her."Someone recently gifted it to me and look, I just launched it." He laughed and brought his face to her."You didn't think I'd just kill you like that, did you?"

Saint responds, distracting me from my thoughts, "We should focus on those guys. They are about to play Pussy Russian Roulette and the blond one is about to shoot himself on the leg.” Now I have to look at that. I sneak a quick glance at the big mahogany table behind us and finally see what those guys are laughing and yelling about (harder than before). They're all putting copious amounts of money in the middle and one of them pulls out a gun and makes a whole show of showing just one bullet inside of it. Then he spins the thingy. Saint said the blond one was going to lose, so I wait with morbid anticipation until it’s his turn. There’s a muted sound and then he’s groaning in pain, getting u

He puts on his glasses and gets to work on retrieving the bullet from my shoulder, while I lean my head back and just focus on taking calming breaths. “You’re very lucky. There have been a number of deaths around Russia lately all involving piano wire. Most victims didn’t get to keep their heads. You may have just found the culprit,” he says absentmindedly. At that, I open my eyes and stare down at the man. Guess he underestimated this particular prey. “Got it,” announces Vsevolod proudly, dropping the bullet in a small jar of rubbing alcohol.

Kaze said with a pretentious smile, “Mr. Weather, I’ve seen a lot of your type. You blame anyone but yourself. “You simply think I won because of some dumb luck. “If you had everything ready or a chance for a do-over, you believe I’d be in your place. “In that case, I’ll grant your wish. “I’m sure that you’re familiar with Russian Roulette.” The revolver spun in Kaze’s hands, and he said indifferently, “Here’s a game of chance. We’ll take turns to fire a shot. “If you win, I’ll let you go. “If you lose, you’ll tell me everything you know about Sanwell Finances, and your life is in my hands.

And the look of disgust in his eyes. “Let’s play a little game,” he growled, a menacing smile on his face. Slowly he pulled the gun from my temple while Roberto and Massimo held their aim on me. He opened the cylinder of the revolver, eyeing it, counting the number of bullets before spinning the cylinder and flicking it closed. “Russian roulette. Shall we?” He pressed the barrel of the revolver back to my temple. The whole scene played out like it was happening to someone else; like it was a bad movie. “Should I kill you now?” he bellowed, rage clear on his face. “I should have expected something

"If I were you, you would tell me now. Because even if I set you free, the one behind this wouldn't let you roam the streets knowing that you could betray them any time. They must have known now that we had caught and brought you here. So, think about it properly, buddy. And, don't try to fool me." Sebastian handed his boss one of his favorite collections of revolvers. "Finish him, boss." "Let's play a game, shall we?" Dionysus' eyes glinted in a way anyone would dreadfully tremble on their knees, like a devil had suddenly taken over his body. "Do you somehow know the game 'russian roulette'?" The sniper's eyes instantaneously widened in utter shock. He palpably knew the game yet he lied rig
