He taps his lap, I make quick, moving into his lap. He fixes his headphones on me and types a few passwords into his laptop. Three to be exact and they open one file, with various videos in it. “I found some videos on the dark web. These are horrible birdie, I simply-” “Let me see.” I cut his sentence short. Just as we get to the sparring area I hear the most obnoxious sound hit my ears. “I see I’m just in time for the best part,” says Ryker. Damn, and my morning was going so well. I’d say he was good looking, but I’m so repulsed by his personality that I find him physically unattractive. He’s 6’1”, black hair that’s ear length in the middle but he keeps it slicked back with the sides of his head are shaved. He has dark brown eyes, pale skin and is moderately toned. He has a few tattoos on his left arm but even his tattoos seem obnoxious.

“Happy now?” Ryker tilted his head. “Not quite.” Before anyone could react, he moved. Fast. Too fast. One second he was standing a few feet away. The next, he was behind Hannah, his hand clamping around her throat in a vice grip. River screamed as Hannah choked, her eyes bulging with shock. Ryker leaned in, his lips inches from her ear. His voice was eerily calm. “This is your last chance,” he murmured. “Do you have anything else you’d like to confess?”

Kayson said, “I’ll deal with him when he shows up. You don’t need to worry about that.” Chase was extremely confused. He then pointed out, “Mr. Yarde, Ryker comes and goes without leaving a trace. He is as swift as the wind, and no trap can slow him down…” Kayson said, “Chief Rivera, any trap is useless against a man specially trained in speed like Ryker.” Chase was rather agitated. ‘Could Mr. Yarde be planning on capturing Ryker by being faster than him? ‘That… That would be utterly impossible!’

I said, making Kane laugh despite the danger. “You always did find yourself funny,” Ryker said, his tone dripping with contempt. “And it looks like it rubbed off on your pathetic excuse of a mate.” Kane snarled, his voice low and deadly. “Do not speak of my mate like that!” He stood up, mentally thanking the guards for releasing his hands so he could defend me. “I’ll ask you one more time: What are you doing here?” Ryker chuckled darkly. “Well, I’m here to kill you two and take over this pack,” he said casually. “I’ve already dealt with the witch. Surprisingly, she didn’t put up much of a fight. This pack stands no chance.”

Soon she felt a firm material right above her ankle. She snapped open her eyes and saw him clasping that dagger sheath at her crus. She didn't know what he was trying to do but better knew than defying him. After clasping the sheath securely Ryker tucked the dagger in it. The dagger has in his name with his date of birth carved on it as: Ryker Verlice 28.09.1994

I said with a laugh as worry lines creased his brow. We rode the Hipper, a superconducting levitation transporter that took city dwellers to and from the Drock, then proceeded onward to the edge of the ice lands. At speeds of over five hundred miles an hour, we passed computerized automotive harvesters and hovering seeding machines that dotted the landscape. Leaves as bright as jewels spun through the air in the Hipper’s wake. In the distance, the towering ice mountains stretched across the horizon. The ice lands covered two-thirds of our planet, sustaining a population of more than eighty million.

Ryker. Dead eyes glowing, grin already splitting his face like he’d won the lottery. I blinked once, twice, and then smiled a wide, sweet smile innocent enough to rot teeth. “Hi, Ryker,” I chirped, voice sugar over razor blades. “Nice catch. Molto eroico(hero). Ten out of ten, would fall again.” He stared for a beat, chest heaving against mine and then he threw his head back and laughed loudly unrestrained, and absolutely fucking unhinged, the sound bouncing off stone walls.

Ryker helped light a fire and went to get us something to eat. It was cold and he had only a shirt on as he returned. He handed me a piece of hamburger and sat besides me quietly. He seemed to be cold since he was the one who went out to look for food for us. I quickly removed my hood and handed it to him. "here.. I'm a little warm. " I told him as I threw the hood at him. "I never said I was cold did I? You should keep it. You may catch a cold out here.. "
