The sharp, feminine voice cut through my peaceful haze like a blade, and I opened my eyes to find Sabrina standing beside me, a half-empty glass of champagne in her hand, her eyes sharp and calculating as she looked me up and down.
I blinked, thrown off by the sudden confrontation. “Yes, actually. I am.”
She took a long, slow sip of her drink, her eyes never leaving my face. “What exactly are you, Cheryl?”
I frowned, confusion flickering across my mind. “What do you mean?”
She took a step closer, her eyes narrowing, her voice dropping to a low, almost conspiratorial whisper. “I mean, what are you? If my brother is going to get married to you, I need to know exactly what you are.”
