Saga Book 1 Novels & Stories

And everything that happened before, who was I with? It can’t be that it was all just a hallucination! Even the wounds on my body are real. I picked up a thin, empty bag—like a tote bag—and transferred the ancient book from my work bag into it whilst Saga wasn’t looking. He was still talking to Alaric on the phone. Slowly, I crept out of the room, hoping Saga wouldn’t notice I’d left. Taking careful steps, I made my way to the end of the corridor, where I could see a large door.

"Your apartment. Uninvited guests handled." Chill spidered despite the heat building low. Stalking confirmed—cameras? Hacks? "You breach my home? Bold, Sato. Even for you." He closed distance, lethal grace, scent coiling—ink, citrus, controlled fire. Backed me to the window, city vertigo at my heels, his frame caging without touch. Breath hot on my neck, lips ghosting my ear. "You're mine to ruin, crisis queen. Fight me. It'll only make the surrender sweeter."

- I told him. He nodded and pulled several books out from one of the stacks and set them in front of me. I opened the top book and ran my fingers over the runes in the title. It was beautifully written as if each word was drawn with love and attention to detail. Now that I looked at it, it reminded me of a combination of Norse and Old English. Nerrian pulled his chair closer and pointed to the first word, speaking it in my mind than out loud in Draygonian. With his help, I repeated the word over and over again until I perfected it.

Would you mind lending a hand? She gapes at me for a minute before she lets out an exhausted sigh and goes about. Ignoring her existence, I bury my nose under the book again. The first three paragraphs are a bullshit sort of introduction. ‘The Basics’; promises about unreachable standards I’d reach, the kind of work I’d end up writing and Yada, Yada, Yadaaaaaaaa.

And they're huge. The way the story ends in this book isn't complete, because Adonis and Bella get another book in the series. That book is the sixth, so I can't proceed with their story without finishing books 2, 3, 4 and 5, because the 6th book picks up from where Bella and Adonis's story left off in this book but continues through the story of the rest of the couples. And I simply don't want to ruin the surprises the other couples have to offer in the meantime.

Scarlet walked through her high school halls in a daze, hardly aware of where she was. She felt as if she were walking on air. She couldn’t stop re-living her night with Sage; his energy still lingered with every step she took. For the first time, she was hardly bothered by all the kids around her, swarming in every direction, she could barely hear the noise. She didn’t even care. Because now, for the first time she could remember, her heart was full. She was madly in love with Sage. Completely obsessed with him.

SAGE For a moment, I thought I didn't hear him correctly. “What did you say, Aegon?” He moved farther from me. How did he know that at this point, I would be willing to drive a knife into his heart? “What did you say just now, Aegon?” “I—” the man stuttered. “I am a cursed man, Sage.” There was no way I would sit and take in this news. My legs, on their own and without a lead, pushed me to my feet. The next moment, I found myself pacing the space with a confused look that was plastered on my countenance. “I don't understand.”

Xasha came up to the man, “He must have been a Thorium Realm expert for his bones to survive this long.” Beside the man was a book with a metal cover. He took up the book in hand and opened it, but all that fell out was dust and loose pieces of pages that had not decomposed yet. The ink had long disappeared, but Xahsa saw one word visible in the entire Book, "pe Sage." "PE, sage? What's that?" a member of Xasha's 5 man cell commented. "Don't worry about it, let's just go, we're falling behind." Another member berated. She thought Choir was too easily distracted.

Silence lingered between them. The rest of the flight was quiet as Kevin sat in another seat at the back busy signing documents and discussing business matters while Emma read a book and intermittently looked out the window watching the scenery below and sometimes stealing a glance back at him and caught him looking at her. After an hour, Kevin walked to her, checking on her as she drifted off to sleep. The leather-bound book she was reading lay open on her lap, the words written on its open page clearly visible; “If I know what love is, it is because of you!" Kevin smiled and then put the book aside. There was no lie in it.

He barely acknowledged her as his attention remained on me, and after a moment, he finally handed me the book. “Chapter One,” he said. “The First Shift.” I tightened my fingers around the cover. “Chapter Two. The Beast Within.” My stomach twisted. “And Chapter Three,” he continued, his expression becoming even colder, “The Alpha Bloodline.” He released the book into my hands and stepped away. “Good luck, Princess.” He walked past us, deliberately brushing against Rigina’s shoulder this time before disappearing between the shelves. Rigina turned and watched him leave, then looked back at me. “I officially hate him.”
