Diana sat in the lounge chair, hugging her knees close to her chest. A small, hitching sigh wracked throughout her. She inspected her hand for the thousandth time, peering at those crescent-shaped marks that Hecate's touch had left on her skin. They looked like tiny tattoos, drawn with black lines and resembling little moons. She had one on the inside of her wrist, another on that soft part beneath her thumb, and another right in the middle of her palm.

I will need to make sure we have warm water everywhere since My Diosa loves a hot bath, even if I believe cold showers are better. I turn to the sink, looking at the mirror above it and tilt my head to look at my mark. It’s perfection. A mark that clearly personifies her. There’s a white moon, with a crown and sword in front of it, a cherry blossom branch goes across the top past the hilt of the sword. There are scattered cherry blossom petals behind it. A faint hint of pink glow emits from behind the moon and there’s a white long double hexagon shape surrounding the branch, crown, and sword.

Esmeray held her forearm up, examining the intricate tattoo that adorned her skin. The tattoo depicted a majestic wolf, its eyes fierce and determined, surrounded by swirling patterns that seemed to dance with a life of their own. The lines were bold and precise, giving the impression of strength and resilience. “This tattoo is so unique,” Esmeray remarked, tracing her fingers over the contours of the design. “I’ve always felt a connection to it, but I never knew why.”

It was silver and in the shape of two crescent moons facing outwards, the symbol of Selene, the Goddess. The nurse that was helping me change even gasped a little when she saw it, but I tried to ignore her.

“I’m worshipping. There’s a difference.” Kai’s breath hitched as Damien’s thumb dragged over the phoenix’s head, right above his left nipple. The tattoo was intricate—flames curling in shades of red, orange, and deep black ink that seemed to flicker in the low light. It stretched from just below his collarbones down to the bottom of his ribs, wings wrapping around his sides. Geometric patterns from his full sleeves connected to it, making the entire piece feel alive on his lean-muscled swimmer’s build.

Now, I wonder what it means… and what it meant to him. I reach for it gently, my fingers brushing his neck, soft and tender. It is warm and sacred. It looks like an image of a flower, but it isn’t. It’s something else. Something much more powerful. A deep meaning carved from the holiest and most sacred heart. Then I wonder, if the moon tide tattoo is the most important one on his body, then it must also be his weakness. His enemies must never find this out, or they’d use it to destroy him.
