A Queen Among Gods

A Queen Among Gods

she argues, her face getting red with frustration. “Ayawamat was never human, neither was Orenda. I didn’t take two human beings and turn them into something they weren’t and change their way of life. I created them. They were literally born this way the same way I was. The other Gods tend to turn humans into this or that and I don’t think it’s okay. Sanguidae are dead people who…” “Are your fault!” I stare at her, ready to argue when she rises to her feet. If she has to stand, then she’s got a hell of a lot to say to me.

Dawn of the Hunters

Dawn of the Hunters

“He stripped them of their spirit animals, sold them for power. Rumor has it, that when he was murdered by Silas and Orion, he died and struck a deal with Aodh the god of the underworld. For power and stronger magic. Aodh returned him to the realm and Senko would feed the underworld god the souls of spirit animals and in return, Aodh would grant him the power he asked for. When the time came, Senko would open the gateways between realms as payment to the god.” “Well shit, I didn't know that!” I balk at the information. It was the first time I had actually heard the true story. “After the war, we were lost. None of us knew what to do. He was our father, our creator. He controlled us. Took car

The Immortal Emperor Returns

The Immortal Emperor Returns

Chu Xun was stunned by what he had just done with the saber. "So the legends are true? These beasts really do exist?" uttered Chu Xun in amazement. He had always thought the beasts like Tao Tie (mythological beast of gluttony), Suan Ni (legendary feline progeny of the dragon), and Tao Wu (mythological beast of recklessness and stubbornness) as mere figments of imagination.

The Lycan God

The Lycan God

Emotions had run wild between now and then; excitement, disbelief, discontent, rage, and now a thoughtful silence pervading the four walls like a thick blanket that lulls her back to the bay of sleep’s arms. Avian dips the feathered tip into the glass bottle and carefully lowers it onto the page where she had left, just beneath the grotesque sketch of an original Lycanthrope she had attempted whilst still in the throes of energy. “… Average of ten feet tall, five hundred pounds of muscle and fur that is impervious to the war instruments of man.” The high priest stands at the front left, his cheeks like emptied udders that tremble with each breath, “tapetum lucidum…” highly sensitised night v

They mistook my silence for submission, my tortured cries of anguish for hopelessness, I do not think they know who I am, to them I was just an undying freak of nature, oh they shall soon know, for my patience for retribution is infinite for I am no mean man. I am Shango, the West African deity of thunder, lightning and fire, Orisha Jakuta the master of hails and storms, Oba Koso the lord of retribution. How a god came to fall into lowly hands such as these, a lab rat for a group working for an organization unknown, I know not for I awakened in pain from which I do not have when the Obatala the Arch divinity cursed me to eternal slumber, how long I have been held captive, since my awakening

Lesbian Aswang Queen

Lesbian Aswang Queen

"The animals. They're enchanted humans and Aswang – a rival Babaylan cursed them like Circe did Odysseus's men into pigs." "Eduardo. The Mountain Shaman. He's my half-brother and we warred over the throne. When I banned the Ikapati Tribe from eating babies and human blood, and brought back from the University of Manila human protein in plants, he set fire to Aswang Mountain four years ago, and set my servants and palace nest into a cursed sleep. The flying foxes are Aswang, the monkeys are humans, and the half-breeds are the other animals, like tarsiers. They only transform into their human and aswang bodies when the moonlight shines. Otherwise, during the day, we are in a court of ghosts…"

“He held up his medallion. “‘… is the symbol of the house of my father and my forefathers, the house of the Varangaos. It traces its origin from the Great Flood, when the Almighty Kan-Laon punished the humans by commanding rain and seawater to cover the earth up to the summit of the highest mountains. “’Today, our symbol stands for hope, and Kan-Laon’s promise that he will never again extinguish life on earth by the same hellish cataclysm.’ “‘Your kind gives mysterious ailments to humans like me,’ I accused him. It was a statement, not a question. ‘Skin diseases, deformities, insanity. You also take away people’s souls.’ “‘Only those who deserve it,’ he answered with an edge in his voice. Th

Ivan's Betrayal

Ivan's Betrayal

The Soga would not appreciate an annoyance of that magnitude. As the strongest and oldest tribe of vampires, their main concerns were staying in control and retaining power. Other brotherhoods were more than ready for the slightest blunder to happen. Many were eager to take the Soga’s place as the elite. The Soga was the only tribe of African descent not eliminated through assimilation or blood diseases. This could happen as a result of intermixing with other brotherhoods. The Soga was a descendant of the Soganta tribe of Africa. As legend had it, Sarim’s ancestor Hanit fled from Egypt as the last remaining Soganta member. Sarim bought his thoughts back to the present. Was there a Soga humva

Lionel said, getting lost with every word. “Being turned while trapped between the realm of the dead and the living comes with a risk, many of which we don’t fully know. This was a good good read. Finally a finished book, with good characters, that were fleshed out. Grammar better than most, I wasn’t looking for steamy, but this one is! Would like to read another from this author.

So far this is one of the best books I’ve read on this app, the writer is so wonderfully involved welcoming ideas and comments. Which in my opinion shows how much she appreciates her readers. The amount of descriptiveness, information and detail really helps you visualize what your reading. Thanx!!
