"The Blue-," "Bleu Cheese Special Sauce, the tenders have to be cooked thoroughly, no fries, maybe cooked potatoes, light on the cilantro and butter, maybe a substitute with less trans-fatty acids." Sebastian says, folding his menu closed. "Cairo only likes fries on occasion, and River can't stand them."

Leo asked, leaning back in his chair, arms crossed. “Well, we’re like… what? Six-foot giants, and he’s just five-foot something. Scott says he looks like our younger brother when we’re all together. And he hates the smell of smoke; he can’t even stand it,” I said, trying to keep the tone light. My gaze drifted to Scott again, watching him as he munched on popcorn, completely oblivious to our teasing. Xavier chuckled, shaking his head. “Man, he’s a saint, that one. If it weren’t for him, you’d probably be knee-deep in trouble every week.”

Ace questioned and Kal shrugged. "Yes. Ketchup can go with anything," Kal said matter-of-factly and Kimberly looked at the bottle of ketchup in front of her. She slowly lifted the bottle and reached across the table. Kal gave Kimberly a not-so-nice look as he grabbed the bottle, but the second he did his face went blank. Greyson, Harry and Ace all looked at Kal instantly and their mouths dropped at the same time the ketchup bottle did, shattering into pieces on the dining room table.

I took the drink from him, loving the fruity fragrance it had. “There might be someone who wouldn’t appreciate such forlorn gestures.” He placed his hands dramatically on his chest. “Oh, you wound me señorita.” He said with a wink. I laughed softly. “No-one can stop being enchanted with me. There is just something about me,” he boasted. “Something like the ketchup up on your lips?” “Where?” He asked affronted. I took a sip of my drink. “It’s not alcohol, right?” He smirked. “Show me where the ketchup is first,” he said levelly.

The movie starts, and we watch in peace, but when the timer goes off, I get up to handle the food, serving Harper and Perry each a full plate. "Ketchup," Perry says, belatedly adding, "Please." I take the ketchup bottle from the fridge, and Harper asks, "Can you grab the mayo too?" Perry crinkles his nose. "Mayo?" "For the fries." "Ew. Since when?" "British people do it," she defends. I return with both condiments and put them on the coffee table. "All good?" They snatch their respective bottles, seemingly satisfied, so I sit back down and bring my plate on my lap. Teddy sleeps peacefully on the top of the other couch, his paw twitching before he stretches and adjusts.

I almost forgot about the small boy sat opposite me until his innocent voice softens the mood. “Of course.” I reach out, placing it in front of him…a smile spreading onto his lips as he takes the ketchup for himself. “Must you use that, this is steak Athan.” Dessa reprimands the boy by his side, her eyes rolling as she takes the ketchup from him and places it out of reach. “I say, steak and ketchup are the best recipe…what do you say Athan? Makes it feel more like a burger then.” Balgaire reaches for the ketchup, splattering it onto his plate before passing it back to the boy.

I added the last part so there would be no more mistaking what I was talking about. Chad stared at me for a long time, he looked me up and down, then turned away quickly, but not before I noticed the shiner he had on his eye. “I’ll order the chicken wing platter with fries and I’ll have a cola to drink.” I wrote it down then looked up to catch him staring at me again. “ What sauce? We have ranch, blue cheese, buffalow sauce, any of those?” He dropped his gaze downward again. “ Um, I’ll have ranch on the side I guess.” I finished writing it down and turned to Nate, who was sharing a look with Xander. Did Xander do that to Chad?

she becomes quite sad as she looks at the burger pitifully. “I don’t think the burger needs your pity Kate. I am talking about something else. Don’t you see Xavier right now? Have you ever seen him buying lunches for us? I have never seen him dining with people and there he is sharing lunch with us. Don’t you find it weird?” she asks. I suddenly stop gulping the burger and then get curious on their talk. I want to know why did he do that too? Is it because he was trying to help Melanie because she was her childhood friend? Or is it because something else?
