“C’mere, baby.” Her voice is a soft croon. I blink, the gentle sound making my heart skip a beat. “You really love her.” For a brief moment, I find myself envious of the cat who is at the receiving end of such fierce adoration. “She’s my whole world,” Charlotte admits, not even looking at me. The cat clearly enjoys the attention, purring loudly. I study the two of them, and then I ask, “Why didn’t you tell me you were the one who saved me, the other night?”

she said with a coy smirk and turned to the door. " Hey, "Cat called out drawing Poison's attention. Poison paused at the door and waited without turning around. " Thanks for saving my life and be careful out there, " Cat said softly. " Don't worry blondie, you are not getting rid of me that easily, " Poison said with a wink before clearing the doorway. Cat smiled at her words and fell back on the bed at her exit.

I found a place to park a few blocks away near a treeline. I went into the thickest part of the trees after making sure no one was nearby, removing my clothes and folding them before placing them in a plastic bag I set on the pine needles. I shifted into my wolf and shook out my fur. I stalked closer, alert for movement. When I got close to the window, I heard voices. "Marcus, I left some dinners for you in the freezer. I need you to eat better! I don't like how you're losing weight. You can't exist on microwave food and potato chips."

While still pondering, the Chinchilla cat in her arms suddenly growled fiercely and then jumped down from her embrace, positioning itself protectively in front of Emily. "Kitten, come back quickly!" Emily wanted to hold the kitten again, but she saw the man snort and laugh, saying: "Don't rush to save it. It may be more formidable than you think. How amusing. You didn't even notice you were carrying a cat. But... Kitten, are you sure you can defeat me? Protect her? Your owner shouldn't underestimate me."

Gladys simply replied. "What if there are no keys?" Yin asked. "Then we hot-wire one," answered, Gladys. "I don't even know how to drive." Yin said. "Does anyone know how to drive?" "Well, I do, but not how to steal one." Sarah said. "I have been stealing cars before I came into the convent. I have gotten used to hotwiring them." Gladys said. "So worry not, damsels in distress, for I'm your knight in shining armour."

I looked up and Uncle Jericho winked at me. “I’m not,” Elder Katarin places her teacup down and looks at me, “I’m just curious.” I look back at her not showing any signs of intimidation even though her sole presence was enough to intimidate me. “I don’t know how a big heart is measured, but I do know that I am doing everything I can to save my people and not only them but everyone in the land. Everyone deserves to be free and to live without fear.” A big smile appeared on Elder Katarin’s face. “You are your mother’s son.”

RUBY I couldn't believe this. I met the kitten I had saved five years ago. And look at her now. She's a beautiful, grown-up cat, her eyes glimmering with life I once protected. "I still can't believe this." My voice echoed softly, the disbelief swirling through my mind. Yet Cookie's purring was comforting and real, grounding me in the present as Helen's stories danced around us.

The cat growled and hissed a few more times, but as soon as Millicent opened the sandwich a little and exposed the meat there, it hesitantly crawled away from the wheel, its big green eyes staring at the food, although its teeth were still exposed. And, in the next instant, Isaac had him trapped in the fabric of his coat, but he couldn't escape receiving several scratches as the cat tried to free itself, struggling everywhere and letting out meows that were practically screams. “Calm down, you little shit.” Isaac growled, his arms bleeding as he finally managed to wrap his coat around the cat as if it were a baby, leaving only his head sticking out “We're trying to save your life.” “Oh, no…”

The company's keeping me busy, and I don't have time. I looked at her in surprise, not expecting her to bring it up, but then I understood. Although Sophia could be sharp-tongued, she had always been kind-hearted. Otherwise, she would not have sacrificed her life to save me three times. The first time was when we were 18 years old. I was being robbed in an alley, and she took a knife to her right hand trying to save me. The only other living thing in this world that I love is my cat. "Oh my God, Goose!" I scream, causing Pierce to look at me with a panicked expression. "My cat! I don't have anyone to feed him, or clean his litter, or give him those little treats that he loves! Please, Pierce! Please don't let my cat die." I beg him, my eyes filling with tears again. He puts his sandwich down and rounds the counter towards me, but I'm too panicked to worry about his close proximity. He holds his hands out and grabs my shoulders, rubbing up and down in a soothing motion.
