The dinner was lively like I had expected it to be. Gavin's father wasn't much of a talkative man, but he was pretty nice, and I realized they referred to me as ‘son-in-law’ in this household, the servants of the Slade's included. They were all so nice, but very nosy too. Gavin's dad inquired about my business and tried to give some insight on how I can generate more company revenue, but Gavin interrupted him, claiming he was a better businessman than his dad, so I should ask him for advice instead. His mother then threw a spoon at him, telling him not to belittle her husband again,
"Mom, seriously?" he grumbled, rubbing his arm. "That hurt."
