What a way to say goodbye… Our case was one of right person, wrong timing, and as I closed my eyes and let the tears roll down to my ears, I muttered under my breath, "I love you, Aiden… I’m sorry it has to end this way, but no matter what it takes, I will be out of your life. For good this time. You deserve much better…"

I smiled and thought about my conversation with Sarah back at the pond and I wondered if she ever found her peace. Couldn’t hurt to try. “Sarah.” I whispered. “I don’t know if you can hear me. But I can let you go now. I found my peace. It’s time for you to find yours. Goodbye, my dear friend.” A soft breeze blew past me with a quiet whisper. “Goodbye.” The End.
