Scarlett’s smirk widened as she swirled the wine in her glass. “Now, Seraphina,” she sighed dramatically. “Did you really think you could sneak past me?” Her eyes glinted with amusement. “I must admit,” she continued, pushing off the wall, her heels clinking against the tiles as she took slow, deliberate steps toward me. “I didn’t think you had it in you.” I rolled my eyes at Scarlett’s words, letting out an annoyed sigh. "Don’t act so surprised. I told you I would escape," I snapped, my voice dripping with irritation. Then, I narrowed my eyes at her, crossing my arms. "And don’t you want me gone anyway? So that you can have him all to yourself?" I taunted.

The hum of voices grew louder, punctuated by Scarlett’s sharp retorts. “Fuck you, DeLuca!” she spat, her voice echoing through the hangar. “You’re a coward… A pathetic little man who has to kidnap kids to feel powerful.” DeLuca chuckled, a low, menacing sound. He stepped closer to her, and his shadow loomed over her small frame. “You’ve got your father’s mouth, kid. Shame he’ll never hear it again.” Scarlett glared up at him, her mouth twisted into a smirk. “He’ll find me. And when he does, you’re dead.”

Scarlet started rubbing her arm, her face showing pain now. “This is not the end yet, Luciana!” Scarlet exclaimed, her eyes almost darkened in anger. I smirked, crossing my arms. “I know, Scarlet. I know that you will never stop. But just fulfill what you promised me that you will never mess with me, or else, I will really break your arm,” I responded, not getting affected by her words. But, Scarlet started laughing. “Do you really believe that I will stop just like that? You're really not thinking, Luciana,” Scarlet muttered, while shaking her head many times.

And honestly, I wasn't in the mood to play their dumb game. “Are the three of you deaf or something? I said get-out-of-our-way,” Zoe repeats the words once again, stressing the last part of the statement. “What if I don't? What will you do? Scream? Scarlett asks sarcastically, the smirk on the corner of her lips stretching an inch more.

It was the only thing that made sense but he kept egging her on. She replayed his words over and over in her head like a mantra. How could she not? She had never forgotten anything about him. “Immoral rodent.” She mumbled, but the ladies on the table heard her loud and clear. They both froze at once. Her speech, the way she had smacked the cup down, and her eyes burning with rage which she thought they wouldn’t catch up even when she was making it this obvious…. “...You are not talking about me, are you?” Scarlet was quick to straighten her posture and elegantly wipe her face by slowly patting it.

“You already beat everyone there—what more do you want?” Scarlett raised an eyebrow, her expression bold and unapologetic. “I didn’t beat them enough,” she said calmly. “Maybe I’ll go back for round two.”
