Chasing Kitsune

Chasing Kitsune

I smirked. “If you say God.” Takashi scoffed. “Nope. Scarier and a hell of a lot sexier. My wife, Yūri. She already wants you dead, and that was just a shot to my arm. You kill me, you are going to get your heads removed slowly and her Kitsune card shoved down your severed neck.” I smirked.

Angela Kulow
Another awesome book by Bryant! She is so great at character development and pulls you into her story. I love how she delved into taboo topics, and the real cost of those behaviors! It's also great to read about a strong female, instead of needing a man to save her!
Y. Jetter
This is probably one of my favorites from the author. It was well written and puts an interesting spin on Girl Power. I loved how Yuri was just risqué enough to keep me hooked. Yuri/Kitsune are the bada$$ I wish I could be. Hibiki is the perfect pairing for her, complementing not overshadowing her.

Dragon-kissed

Dragon-kissed

“How could they allow the hunting and killing of the ocean lizards for the experiment?” “To summarize the paper’s abstract,” Sasha said, “Tamerlane sold it as a potential end to humanity’s godhood envy. Basically, if humans could achieve immortality, we’d be on an equal footing with the Dragon God himself and a step above above the dragon kings and the rest of their kind.” “But that was impossible,” Aki blurted out. “Kuzuryū Daimyōjin, if wounded, could grow back any of his nine heads and any of his appendages.”

Divine Academy

Divine Academy

The Ushi-Oni or the gyūki, The gyūki was a monster whose appearance looked like a spider with an ox's head that sported long sharp poisonous horns, and razor-sharp fangs, each of its six legs had a single long claw that could slice through even the toughest of metals, and its forked tongue carried the force of a whip. It was a creature of nightmares. A monster that most gods assumed was mythical, a folklore legend, but the gods of the Underworld Kingdom knew better. A single Ushi-Oni could cause a sickness that would drain the lesser gods and goddesses of their souls and their divine gifts; it would then use those powers to unlock the hidden cells of the sub-princes of Hell; Astaroth, Maggot

The Unprecedented Yokai Hunter

says Ayame and starts chewing on her finger nails as her eyes started to get redder and redder like a tomato. “End of the line, was it Fuujin or Raijin, or a constellation or something inhuman not even known to humankind or from a folklore not from Japan at all, was it from a chinese mythology or perhaps western Europe. Perhaps it may have been from India too…. I’m done.” Says Ayame and lays on the ground looking at the ceiling. “No use~… These guys don’t even know what their leader is.” The yokai fall unconscious from holding their breath for too long one by one like dominoes.

Reaper's Hollow

Reaper's Hollow

“Yes. The Japanese government no longer publishes the numbers of how many bodies they find there annually, but at one point it was as high as one hundred.” “Wow.” Ivy looked astonished. “That’s a lot of people to take their own lives in one year in the same location.” “Right. Which adds to the lore.” Cutter shook his head, and Ru imagined it was in sympathy for the souls that lost their lives in the forest. “This may sound like a stupid question,” Ru said, still pondering whether or not to ask it, “but are these yurei real, or is what the forest visitors have been experiencing something else—like Reapers? Or demons?”

“What the fuck?” “I don’t like this, something is watching us!” Drago speaks. “What is it?” I asked. “I don’t know but there are legends of Kappa out here!” “Kappa?” “River demons of Japanese folklore.” “I’m starting to think it’s something else, it’s not evil but it’s certainly alarming when you can’t see it but it can see you.” “We should head back to our Ember.” “HEY DAMIAN!” I yelled and turned to see Ember and Binx standing beside me.

The Race Against Death's Door

The Race Against Death's Door

The moon shines fully, illuminating the darkness outside and providing a glint of light to Svetlana’s eyes as she stared up at it while she sat on a bench with Ahrio next to her. “There’s a legend in Southeast Asian countries that whenever it’s the full moon, ghosts, monsters and other scary supernatural beings appear and roam the world of the living. Do you know that?” Svetlana shared one of those horror stories she had heard from her childhood. Smiling, she glanced at Ahrio and caught him just staring at her face like he’s engrossed about everything about her. “Really? Do those supernatural beings include goddesses? Coz I’m definitely seeing one right now.”

Rejected Luna

Probably an even mix. He’d been up half the night with thoughts of goblins and gumiho. Halmeoni used to tell Jihoon stories about dokkaebi tricking humans and nine-tailed foxes eating the livers of men. Horror stories camouflaged as fables to teach lessons. But those types of stories were supposed to stay in books, not come to life and almost choke him to death.
