His eyes drift to the sludge and anger lights up his eyes in a violent flicker of light,

Her lips curved in her signature smirk. Ryan followed my gaze and quickly jerked her hand away. He hurried over to me and turned me around by gently holding my arm. Tingles spread over my body as his skin touched mine. My wolf howled and whimpered as his betrayal shun her existence. Ryan's gaze ran over my body assessing my state. He gently pushed the strands of my hair from my face and looked into my eyes. "Scar," his voice softened as he came closer and held my wounded arm. The blood has stopped but now it has dried around the wound.

No amount of water and soap seemed to be able to remove the scarlett muddiness. Tears blended with the cascade over my head, sobs left my lips, trembling as I scoured my skin to the brink of breaking it. My hands were raw, red and sore but the blood still stained my hands. Panic set in, the pain in my hands told me I had done all I could but I refused to relent; all I could see was Giovanni’s blood spilling through my fingers. My skin stung, worn and torn away at my knuckles. I closed my eyes, pulling my hands to my bare chest as I cried into the scalding water.

Her garnet eyes glowed fever-bright, muscles swelling and distorting into rippling bulks of misshapen tissue. I staggered back in dismay as spiky protrusions burst from her arms, razor claws splitting through her fingers. Dear Goddess, what evil conjuring was this? The veil of humanity fell away entirely from Scarlet's visage, leaving only insatiable bloodlust in those crazed orbs fixed unblinking upon me.
