Scarlett (Second Edition)
Lucian stepped close, his own expression tight with concern.
“Midnight?” he asked, addressing her wolf. Scarlett hadn’t formally introduced us to her wolf, but we knew Midnight existed; she had reached out to our wolves, and we had sensed her presence. But now… nothing. There was no response, no sign from either of them.
Lucian glanced at me, the urgency in his eyes mirroring my own worry. We stood there, silent, watching and waiting for some sign, some flicker of recognition. I couldn’t help but feel that whatever Scarlett was going through, it was far beyond anything we had ever encountered before, and it left me feeling helpless, terrified of what might come next.
