Bayou Whispers

Bayou Whispers

Crystal Lake Publishingjeanne vnc
Fernández moved as quickly as he could to catch up and was so focused on the pumping of his legs that he nearly slammed into the Golem when the bigger man stopped dead in his tracks. “Holy Mary, Mother of God,” said the Golem. Fernández poked his head out from behind Charley. On the unnamed waterway of the Mississippi that ran behind the U-Store-It! complex sat a dilapidated, burnt husk of a paddle wheeler. Through the soot, they could make out one word on the side of the ship. Sultana. The Civil War ghouls boarded the vessel via a series of wooden planks, and a large man, naked from the waist up, waved a mock greeting at the ex-Rangers.

Dawn of the Gods

Dawn of the Gods

"Don't panic, everyone. Please remain on your seats and don't run around." "Roar!" Suddenly, there was a deafening roar and the whole ship shook even more violently. The sea that was calm only minutes before had given rise to tall waves that rose hundreds of feet high. It was as if the sea was demonstrating that the heavenly power of nature shouldn't be easily violated. Just as everyone was alarmed, a shadow of lightning in the water swam toward the ship. There was a loud bang and the whole ship was nearly overturned by the unknown creature. Everyone screamed and began fleeing in a panic.

Under the Moonlight: Alpha's Bride 2

Under the Moonlight: Alpha's Bride 2

Come, let me give you a tour," he stated flatly, his voice devoid of sorrow or care. I reluctantly followed Xavier across the ship's vast halls. It was strangely silent, with only the faint echo of our footsteps against the walls. Except for a lone waiter and a driver who appeared to be the only other individuals aboard, the ship appeared desolate. I couldn't ignore the nagging feeling of unease as we made our way through the maze of passages. This ship, which had previously represented luxury and excitement, now felt like a haunted jail. As he began to show me the ship's complexity, Xavier's grasp on my palm tightened, a continual reminder of my imprisonment.

The Pack's Vampire

The Pack's Vampire

The Concordia, Twelve Hundred Years Before The bow of the ship was carved into the shape of a ferocious bare-breasted woman, her sharply pointed vampire teeth displayed by a savage snarl and her twisting hair blowing out around her in exquisite detail. “She is beautiful,” Sigrid exclaimed in awe looking up as their rowboat skirted the boat. “I did not see her… Or was it another ship?” She looked at the other ships anchored in the bay around them. Like ant-trails across the water, the rowboats transporting passengers and supplies wove through the waves to the other vessels.

This series is epic, a real nail biter! Yes, it is dark and touches on many uncomfortable issues, but there is redemption and forgiveness and healing. It shows that people can overcome their past and true change is possible with love and communication. I love the characters, especially the vampire.
Fox 2005
very dense story. highly recommended to start with book one, else you are missing too many information needed to understand the different timelines and points if view. yet these arches are more than necessary for the density. showing perspectives, helping the reader to understand the characters...

The Rise Of The White Luna

The Rise Of The White Luna

I shouted into the glare, I had spotted up to five tiny ships coming towards us with immense speed. They all had black flags on them, designed with human skull as a warning. “Pirates, oh silly human pirates messing around.” “Oh how very great,” Tasha muttered to herself, she threw her orange peels into the water. “Just as I was about to get comfortable and have a good nap.”

To Be A Vampire’s Mate

To Be A Vampire’s Mate

"That wouldn't bode well...." "Have you ever heard of soul collectors? They'll reap ships much like this one. A whole mountain of souls then bring people here and kill them just as they killed the people on the ship. We better be extremely careful because ships like this is a whole hoard of lost souls." I teased, scaring him. He shivered and clung to me, wrapping his arms around one of mine and leaned his head against my shoulder, looking around. "Like Emile? Except employed?" He asked me, sounding nervous.

(Bobby The Cameraman) Bobby the Cameraman and Vincent John were speechless and scared right now as they witnessed first hand the horror of war. The Alphas Of Black Cove: The Fight For Love

But once we went on board, it was much … much better,” he said, as he began to push me toward the massive rotting wooden vessel. I practically held my breath fearful of the other thing I was secretly terrified of: ghosts.

My Ex, the Widowed Billionaire

My Ex, the Widowed Billionaire

I stood on the observation deck, watching the dark expanse outside. Callum joined me without a word, slipping an arm around my waist. The simple comfort grounded me. “I’m scared,” I admitted softly. He pulled me closer. “I know.” “But I’m not going to run.” He kissed my temple. “That’s why I’m here.” We stood together, two fragile lights against the vast darkness. Suddenly, the ship shuddered—a warning pulse that rippled through the hull. “Brace for impact!” Kira’s voice cut through the comms.
