After a brief scolding from my teacher, I was sent to assist the librarian. The library was a sanctuary of towering shelves and soft whispers, its grandeur unexpectedly breathtaking. The scent of aged books and polished wood wrapped around me like a comforting cloak. Wandering through the aisles, I stumbled upon a dimly lit corner that exuded an eerie presence. A single book stood out—its cover blank and edges charred. Curious, I picked it up. "Weird," I muttered, flipping through its brittle pages. My blood ran cold when I saw my name inscribed on the last page.

The woman climbed a short ladder and began pulling down a few books. “These should help,” she said, setting five large, dusty tomes on a nearby table. “Sorry about the condition they’re ancient. I glared at the book till I was on my bed and the book never opened - maybe it is my illusion. I ducked myself into the sheets and this time I could hear the flipping of a book - The book. I was scared as hell because when I was still young, I read a lot of horror stories without the consent of my mother, Nahigra. I stared until the last flip of a page. Gradually and slowly as I can, I left my bed to see what my eyesight can't comprehend. "Nah! No third option, Riri," Beatrix gulped. The title of the second book was 'The troublesome flowers'. It may seem like an interesting book about beautiful ladies and romance but really it's not. It was a horror story. Half a page of this book that she glanced at last year made her have sleepless nights. This book served the purpose of building the heart's strength and courage. A wizard or witch from time to time would go on missions. None of them was a stroll in the park. If one was not valiant, he/she wouldn't be able to do so. But she was still a babe. How can he read this sort of book to her? Is he truly her brother?

Or if the weather was on the colder side, we’d sit deep within the woods hurtled around a warm campfire, marshmallows burning and scary stories flowing allowed tears to well in my eyes. The walls shook, the ground rumbled, and rocks clattered everywhere around me. I placed my hands on my face, rubbing my burning eyes before slowly bringing them open. When my vision finally returned, I found the book surrounded with one of those circles with stars in the middle you'd see in horror movies. The shape was on fire, sending smoke all over the place. The fucking book was going to burn down my home. I gritted my teeth, shaking my head. “Not today, Satan!" I quickly rose from the ground and ran to the book as I took off my jacket from around me. Then, I draped it over the burning ground and began stomping on it in a bid to put the fire out.

I don't even have his number! "Hello? Who's there?" I whispered. It was like a horror movie. The girl in the forest screaming and running for her dear life. Maybe it is Jordan. He is a douchebag but can he pull such a stunt just to scare me? One thing I learned from the horror movies I watch is never to scream and run so I backed away and tried to be in the shade because the moon was up and bright. I don't want to be spotted or watched by who may or may not be my predator.
