Scary Story Read Novels & Stories

Henry had developed a habit of reading novels, particularly fantasy stories. He was currently reading "The Great Heroes Adventures." As he turned the page, he felt a chill run up his spine. He hurriedly returned to the previous page and waited for the sensation to pass. It didn't take long at all. "I'm sorry," he mumbled. The ghost who haunted this shop wasn't always as quick to read as he was.

One time at work I'd even heard a co-worker called me the-Squidward-from-spongebob. Exactly why I hated them. That morning I'd just gotten up and, traditionally, said my good mornings to Sam triple zero eight, then the story stroke up. We were having a conversation of a book I'd just finished reading, 'No, Mr Harry Botter, do not turn me into a witch.' Believe me, it was a real book alright. The author was named Harry Botter, so he was the main character of his novel. Stories like that, what do they call them again? Paranormal stories, they were always fun to read. Partly because they were stupid, other part, they were nonsense. Nothing but ridiculous lies.

Then continued reading. Her eyes moved down the page. Down. Further down. Until she reached the sentence. The sentence. The one that changed everything. And suddenly she couldn't speak. Not because she didn't want to. Because she physically couldn't. Daisy grabbed the letter. "Give me that." Jessica let go. Still staring. Still frozen. Daisy read silently. Her eyes widened. Then widened further. Then suddenly she screamed. A full scream. Loud enough to frighten half the neighbourhood.

I glared at the book till I was on my bed and the book never opened - maybe it is my illusion. I ducked myself into the sheets and this time I could hear the flipping of a book - The book. I was scared as hell because when I was still young, I read a lot of horror stories without the consent of my mother, Nahigra. I stared until the last flip of a page. Gradually and slowly as I can, I left my bed to see what my eyesight can't comprehend. To my surprise, it was still that same chapter and a phrase written in bold, "WHEN EVERYTHING GOES SOUTH, DO NOT GO NUT?"

Scarlet couldn't move her eyes from the book, the book seemed to have sorcery power, inciting her to get it. It should be okay to see, isn't that so? Because this book is somewhat special, scarlet hesitated for some time. After she struggled, she chomped her lip and got the book. She was going to open it. "what's going on with you?" As soon as scarlet opened the first page, she was startled by the sound from the entryway. "what!" She screamed and the book in her grasp tumbled to the ground. Jared's eyes followed the falling book, and he suddenly became nervous, his face hardened.

I told him. "Anyway, about the ghost student. Foundation day that time, and we decided to go to the library at night," he started sharing. "The rumor about it was so famous then, and we wanted to know if it was true. We saw her sitting alone at one of the tables, reading a book." he added. My mouth gaped, and I asked, "In the middle of the night? Is she reading a book?" I asked back. He nodded. "Yes, she is. She even looked at us as if she knew we already saw her. And do you know what is scarier than that?" I gulped as Marco said something that made me nervous.

I saw a giant face, blurred and distorted by the perspective, staring down at us with wide, terrified eyes. The Reader wasn't a monster. The Reader was a teenage girl with messy hair and a coffee-stained shirt. And she was **Screaming**. --- ### The Leak The girl dropped the book. As the "World" fell through the air of the "Real" room, the ink began to spill. I felt myself being pulled out of the paper. My legs were no longer made of words. They were turning into liquid black ink, splattering onto a wooden floor that was older and more real than anything I had ever known.

Tonight was our first official sleepover in the treehouse, and we'd dragged up sleeping bags, flashlights, and enough snacks to last a week. "Tell me a scary story," Avy said, settling into her sleeping bag. "I don't know any scary stories." "Make one up." "Okay, um..." I pointed my flashlight at my face for dramatic effect. "Once upon a time, there was a girl who read so many books that her eyes fell out." "That's not scary, that's stupid." "Fine. There was a boy who was so bad at football that the football grew teeth and ate him." Avy giggled. "You're terrible at this."

Scarlett’s POV At dawn, they came. The attack wasn’t subtle; the screams and the clash of steel against steel echoed through Redcape, shaking the earth beneath us. I had felt it before I even opened my eyes—a dark, foreboding presence that made my skin crawl. As I sat up, my heart pounded in my chest, knowing the inevitable had arrived. Fear gripped me, cold and unrelenting. Were we ready? I didn’t know, and I wasn’t sure it mattered anymore.

According to the usual protocol, the conversation should have naturally shifted to the lead actor and actress. However, the first person Roman thanked when he got the microphone was unexpectedly Mindy. He said, "I was drawn into the plot the first time I read 'Lantern'. I was stunned by the author's intricate design of the plot and the eerie tension woven into every word. How do I put this… My scalp prickled with fear, and I got goosebumps all over my body! "I'm not joking about this. After finishing the book, I was so scared that I couldn't sleep the entire night. The more I thought about it, the more scared I became. Chills ran down my spine as I pondered on the story.
