An undeserved second chance

An undeserved second chance

She could not very well break down the gate and march inside the house now, could she? A gate man, whom she had never seen before, inquired what her business at the house was, and looked her car up and down with what looked suspiciously like distaste. For the first time since she got the car, Becca felt ashamed of it, then realizing that she had nothing to be ashamed of, raised her chin in defiance. This man probably did not even have a car, but he was judging hers? Well, to hell with him. At least, she had bought the car with money she had saved up as a student and was proud of it, no matter what some rude man thought. It only needed some painting and servicing and it would be just fine. Ma

The concept of the book is very good I personally do not like 3rd party storytelling And there are certain parts of the book that are hard to follow understanding that English may not be a first language But overall so far I have enjoyed the book

HIS SECOND CHOICE

HIS SECOND CHOICE

Selena had this weight on her but yet it was extremely difficult to find a decent job, it would be disappointing if she has to go back to her home in Italy with nothing, not even a husband. She heaved a sigh as she opens the door to her empty house, she couldn't afford any furniture yet just a small mattress to lay on at night and a gas cooker to make her small meals. She flings her high heels which she had tried so much to keep up with during the day, she had waited for this moment as soon as she stepped out of the house earlier that morning. She undresses and runs into the shower as if her life depended on it at that moment, she had walked the walk of a lifetime in those shaky heels.

Fictitious Reality

Fictitious Reality

She said in an exaggerating manner that made Sia giggle. “ First, I will tell you about social classes. We are divided into classes. I belonged to the lowest class. We have to do whatever work is assigned to us. A level above me is Jay Sir; he has the specialized skill to deal with trade. You are a level above him. Above, you are the people who have attained immortality. Everyone always tries to go to the level above them.” I nodded my head in understanding and asked,“ What about Yorick?”

she hisses. "The fuck it wasn't," I hiss back. "That was as much my baby as it was yours. I deserved to be there. Not to be treated like a second-class citizen. You couldn't even call me and tell me what the fuck was going on. I got that call from Drew." Dr. Crawford interrupts. "Why did this hurt you?" I take a deep breath, widening my lungs as I inhale. "Because my entire life I've felt like a second-class citizen."

The Billionaire's Obsession: Reborn For Revenge

I smiled at their compliments, they were just as I remembered them. Class Eight was full of misfits and illegitimate children, though most of them were from rich families. From Class One to Four were the intelligent Students, Class Five and Six were the students who had come in through special admission like sports, while class Seven and Eight were for the dumb, unintelligent and crazy students, with Class Eight being the worst.

The First Heir

The First Heir

The little girl giggled and said, “This isn’t a sewer but an underground city. Low-class citizens like us can only live underground!” Low-class citizens? Underground city? Seeing Philip's stunned expression, the little girl skipped up to Philip. “What’s wrong? You’re not going to tell me that you're not a low-class citizen, are you? “But if you’re not a low-class citizen, why did you damage the mecha of the captain of the mecha patrol team?” The little girl said with a smile on her face. As far as she knew, the people living above the underground city were middle-class and high-class citizens, but they were also the enemies of the so-called low-class citizens.

love this book...the way the writer builds up the characters most especially the ML..but i was wondering why would the ML have to endure such humiliations from his inlaws when he could just show them his real 'him' as well and the enormous power that he holds considering the status of his family...w

Only the Second Best

Only the Second Best

I stood frozen beneath the shade of a jacaranda tree, its fallen blossoms a soft purple halo around the heels of my muddy shoes. My heart pounded in my chest, but it sounded like an echo in an empty room. Distant and unfamiliar. I had almost been sold. Not literally, of course. But the way Reagan spoke earlier... the way his grandfather looked at me like I was a last-minute solution on an auction block... I knew exactly where I stood. To them, I was nothing but a backup plan. A shadow of Tiara.

The Barren Luna’s Revenge; Dear Ex, Your Only Heir Is Mine

Even Carmen had at one point made me second in her decisions. No matter how many times I tried to make an excuse for the people I cared about, they would always…treat me second. In this life, I had to come to terms with the fact that I would always be second. Never the first! This truly was my curse, the curse of…VINER!

The Omega and Her Three Wolves

The Omega and Her Three Wolves

“You don’t think we’d make you eat in the kitchen, do you?” I frowned as I hesitantly sat. Jarek pushed my chair in for me, and I shivered slightly as his arm brushed my shoulder. “I’m still an Omega,” I pointed out, answering Cassian’s question. “You are our mate and won’t be treated like a second-class citizen,” Jarek said, taking his own seat. “Being second-class would be a step up,” I answered, then bit down on my tongue. What was I doing? They could still decide to reject me, toss me back into the dark woods. I bent my head as I served myself some fresh fruit. “Sorry.”

Second wife, Second chance

Second wife, Second chance

“I’m here to decide what I can live with.” Lady Serephine’s hand slid from her belly to the edge of her gown, fingers smoothing fabric as if Elowen’s words were merely noise. “Decide,” she echoed softly. “But remember, Lady Elowen. Second wives don’t get to rewrite the story. They only get to accept the ending.”
