Ariella's Pov I knew instantly when Alexander had grabbed ahold of the book of secrets. My biggest hidden secret was revealed when the book came to be in this reality. The secret that I held dear and guarded with my life now was open to the most dangerous God to exist. Every decision that I made was now coming to bite me when I was down. I turned over and tried to get up onto my feet. My body was swore and my knees were still weak from the bond that tried to kill me.

“Daring?Me? I’m the queen of playing it safe, remember?” She smirked, her dark eyes glinting in the dim light. “Everyone’s got a secret, Tracy. Even you.” Her words hung in the air, and I felt my cheeks flush. The wine was making my lips a little looser, and my thoughts a little wilder. I glanced at her, her hair cascading over her shoulders, her lips curved in that knowing smile. “What about you?” I countered. “What’s your most daring secret?” She leaned closer, her breath tickling my ear as she whispered, “I’ll tell you mine if you tell me yours.” My heart pounded in my chest.

Once inside, I place the mac and cheese onto my desk and removes one of the oven mitts before I begin searching the book shelf to the right of my desk. “What are you doing?” Getting a puzzled look from Sky, I ignore his questioning gaze. “You’ll see.” Finding what I am looking for, I pull out a book titled “Hidden Secrets” and smirk as the shelf slowly moves to the right side. Sky lets out a low whistle as I place on the mitt once again before picking up the pan and climbing the stairs in the hidden passage way. "Wow." Is Sky's only response.

Not since the night I held the hand of my dying queen and watched the light leave her eyes. She told me to protect the secret. She told me the heir would return one day. She told me to wait. I have waited. For fifty years, I have waited. --- I walk to the back of the archive. Past the shelves of common records. Past the locked cabinets of pack history. Past the iron door that only I have the key to. My hands shake as I unlock it. The room beyond is small. A single shelf. A single book. The book is bound in white leather. No title. No author. Just a symbol on the cover.

He couldn't understand why she would do something. "I guess not everyone is as they seem, right?" A place for secrets. A place for love that couldn't survive daylight. I pushed the door open and stepped inside. The air was cold and stale, but it still held traces of him, pine smoke, steel, and something warm that made my chest ache. I sank onto the edge of the narrow bed and pressed my yearbook to my lap. The cover was bent. A smear of dried blood marked one corner where I must've grabbed it after Selena kicked me down. Graduation. Everyone else would have pages filled with signatures and inside jokes and promises to visit.

His arm lowers slowly to his side as he turns to stare at me in complete surprise. “You fucked him,” he whispers. “I’m sorry,” is all I can think to say in response. I don’t move when he grabs me again, this time hauling me up by my arm and dragging me to a bookshelf behind his large desk. He pulls a book toward him, activating the secret room hidden behind it. My stomach instantly sinks, knowing exactly where this is going. “No!” I tug at his hold on me, digging my feet into the carpet. “No! Don’t!”

Gina said with her mouth full. Selena looked at her with a confused face. "Have you been reading more of those books?" She was referring to the books on Gina's desk that had weird titles like "How to properly unlock the door without the key." , "Speak like a smarty pants!" , "Who are you? I am the ugly world?" , "Books for people who are cops." And other titles. Selena didn't even want to think of how silly the contents were. Who on earth even wrote those books and where did Gina even get them?

"Sleep beside me and stop asking questions," "Beside you?" "Yeah, it's your bed after all," he said and she swallowed her saliva in fear. What if he tried to do something. Besides, he is a man. "I can't sleep beside you!" "Why? It's your bed after all," "I can't sleep beside a man and that's it!" "I searched everything about you Miss Paige Williams and I found out that you were once a seductress," She widened her eyes in shock. No one knew about her being a seductress except Shelby, her mother who is at the brothel and Charlotte. Those are the people that knew of her being a seductress.

Everyone else was where they were supposed to be, but I wasn’t about to waste another second playing fair. I walked quickly, purposefully, until I reached Seb’s locker. I glanced left, then right. Empty hall. Perfect. I’d already managed to get his passcode earlier this week, people underestimate how easy it is to watch someone when they’re not paying attention. He thought he was clever, but I was smarter. I typed the numbers in. The lock clicked open. Inside, a pile of books and random junk. But one thing caught my eye immediately: a small black box shoved into the corner. There was a sloppy label on the top in Seb’s handwriting: Secret.
